MY VEHICLE STARTED MAKING A LOUD NOISE (GRINDING WHEN IN REVERSE AND HUMMING WHEN GOING FORWARD). I HAVE HAD THE PROBLEM CHECKED BY 4 SEPARATE MECHANICS AND THEY ALL TOLD ME IT IS A PINION BEARING IN THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL. AFTER SPEAKING WITH THE LOCAL LAND ROVER DEALERSHIP AND READING SEVERAL LAND ROVER FORUMS ON THE INTERNET, THIS PROBLEM SEEMS TO BE VERY COMMON. OF COURSE, MY WARRANTY EXPIRED ABOUT 2 MONTHS AGO AND THE COST TO REPLACE THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL IS VERY EXPENSIVE (ABOUT $3,800). SINCE THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM, IT SEEMS LIKE THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THIS ISSUE. *TR
