WIRING FOR ELECTRIC BRAKES WAS IMPROPERLY ROUTED AND THE WIRES WERE NOT PROPERLY RESTRAINED. THE MAIN WIRING HARNESS OVER TIME RUBBING ON THE TIRE WORE THROUGH THE INSULATION BREAKING THE WIRE CONNECTION CAUSING THE TRAILER BRAKES TO FAIL. DOING MY INITIAL START UP TEST OF MY BRAKE CONTROLLER I FOUND THE TRAILER BRAKES NOT WORKING. UPON FURTHER INSPECTION I FOUND THE WIRES RUBBED THROUGH FROM RUBBING ON THE INSIDE OF THE TIRE. I REPAIRED THE CONNECTION AND PROPERLY RESTRAINED THE WIRES. HAD I NEEDED THESE BRAKES TRAVELING DOWN THE ROAD THEY WOULD HAVE FAILED WITH POTENTIALLY SERIOUS CONSEQUENCES. NOTIFIED MANUFACTURER, NO RESPONSE. *TR
