THE PROBLEM I AM HAVING WITH THE KAWASAKI NINJA 300 SE IS THE STALLING ISSUE THAT MANY OTHERS HAVE REPORTED. I THEN GET NEAR MY FIRST STOP SIGN OR STOP LIGHT AND EASE OFF THE THROTTLE AND PULL THE CLUTCH IN TO DOWN SHIFT. THE SECOND I PULL THE CLUTCH IN, THE RPM'S DROP AND THE BIKE STALLS OUT. THIS HAS HAPPENED 5 TIMES IN THE LAST THREE DAYS I HAVE DRIVEN IT. ONE TIME I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION TRYING TO START MY BIKE, THIS IS A SAFETY PROBLEM AND NEEDS TO BE RESOLVED. Kawasaki Motors Corp. is recalling certain model year 2013 Ninja 300 and 300 ABS motorcycles manufactured July 16, 2012, through April 27, 2013. Due to an improper setting in the Electronic Control Unit (ECU), the motorcycle may stall under deceleration.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: A stall under deceleration increases the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Kawasaki will notify owners, and dealers will replace the ECU. The recall began on August 5, 2013. Owners may contact Kawasaki at 1-866-802-9381.
