FCA directed me to stop charging, park away from structures, and avoid normal use due to risks of vehicle fire and sudden loss of propulsion. FCA confirms no remedy is available for either recall and does not provide a repair timeline. SAFETY RISK: The vehicles may catch fire during normal operation or lose all propulsion without warning, creating a crash risk. FCA acknowledges this in their recall notices. Both vehicles are currently unsafe, unusable, and cannot be operated as intended. MANUFACTURER RESPONSE: FCA created case numbers [XXX] and [XXX] but stated parts are unavailable. Only partial rental reimbursement is offered. This does not resolve the safety hazard or unusable status of both vehicles. REQUEST: I am requesting NHTSA to review FCA’s lack of remedy, prolonged delay, and the continued safety hazard affecting these vehicles. Owners are being told not to charge or use their vehicles with no repair available. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Follow-Up to Complaint #11696210 This is a formal update to my original safety complaint regarding my 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe (VIN: [XXX] ), which suddenly decelerated from 50 mph to 10 mph on October 11, 2025 — a terrifying incident that occurred immediately after an over-the-air (OTA) Uconnect software update. Since submitting the original complaint, Jeep/Uconnect confirmed that my vehicle was affected by the faulty OTA update, but they have refused to provide any documentation of what occurred. They admitted the update was involved but claimed they had “no access” to the engineering or software details. They referred me back to the dealership, which had originally denied any recall existed and still has not provided a clear explanation of what was done. I have made repeated attempts to escalate my case through Jeep, Uconnect, and Stellantis, but: -My case was closed prematurely despite the seriousness of the issue -No one will provide documentation of what software version was installed, rolled back, or repaired -No one will confirm whether the recall fix was fully implemented -All email escalation contacts have since been removed I’ve been left without answers and with growing concerns about my safety in this vehicle The recall issued days after my incident matches exactly what happened to me, yet I’ve been treated as though this was an unrelated or minor issue. It was not. I was extremely lucky I wasn’t in heavy traffic when the malfunction occurred. I am urging NHTSA to further investigate Jeep/Stellantis's handling of this recall, including their lack of transparency, poor documentation practices, and refusal to provide consumers with the information they need to feel safe in their vehicles. The engine began sounding like a diesel and pushing the gas pedal made the car surge/lurch. Then, while driving in rush hour traffic, the car went into what I now know is called “limp mode” where I could not accelerate and I received a warning that told me to pull the car over.

I had just left my home and got up to about 20-25 MPH when my Jeep Wrangler Willy’s 4XE suddenly and abruptly came to a full stop causing the tires to lock up as well and screech to a stop then it shut down and I had to restart it. It jolted my upper body and head forward and could’ve been much more dangerous if I were on a busy road or if anyone were driving behind me. I took it to my local dealership and they were able to recreate the issue after driving it and it shut off just as it did for me. They brought it in and seem to have primarily done some software update but didn’t express much confidence in the repair. They just said there were no DCT’s but there was some software updates and that should fix it. They also claimed there were no recalls present on the vehicle which is even more scary. So the only way there fixing this if they even are fixing it is it already happened to you and put you in danger.

Now on Sunday August 11th at 6:08pm driving home from store with no charge on jeep at all, not in hybrid only gas, the jeep died in the middle of the road, it abruptly stopped with no warning, my body jerked forward and when I pushed down gas pedal there was nothing. There was no type of warning before this happened, no light warning on dash, no beeping NO WARNING. Thankfully the car behind me went around me and thankfully there was enough distance between us. I was on a back road thankfully right near an entrance of a park. After putting it into park is when it started binging at me and beeping and warning lights, service charging system light came on, check engine light. I tried turning it off and back on which I had power like my radio and lights on dash the whole time. I could not get car to go into neutral, I even turned off got out closed door and then tried again. Thankfully I was close to home called my husband who came, and he could not get into neutral and had to find the loop that put jeep in neutral manually and he towed me to a safer place. He then unhooked the negative battery terminal for 15min to see if that would at least reboot system which it did but drive home it was like a windup toy car very bucking. I did charge and took to dealership Monday it did buck once an. All of this was about an hour. Jeep is at dealership still. I do have pictures and video also

Driving along with traffic, in the middle lane of a 5 lane highway, a red turtle light suddenly appeared on my dash and my car instantly starting losing speed and acceleration at a very quick rate. On the middle of the dash my screen read "Push Break and Push Button to Start" (which it usually says when I get into my car to start it, but my car was still on and running). I quickly put my hazards on and was able to safely, with very little time, pull off the road to the shoulder as fast as I could. I put my car in park and then turned it off after examining the dash to see if any other lights were on. Nothing new had appeared and the turtle light was gone. I started my car up again, went to put it in Drive, but I could not get the vehicle out of Park. My shifter would not budge. Several attempts turning the vehicle off and back on and still could not get the vehicle out of park. All the usual lights turned on, the radio was on and working as usual. At this time, I did notice that the engine light on the dash was now lit up, along with a red battery light. A tow truck was called to come and tow the vehicle to the car dealer I leased it from. This is the first time this has ever happened to me in any vehicle, especially this new one. I just got this brand new '24 Jeep Wrangler 4xE in May 2024.
