2024 Jeep Grand Wagoneer

On June 18, 2026, I was driving my 2024 Grand Wagoneer on a busy city road. As I approached a busy intersection, I stopped at the red light. When I attempted to move forward when the light turned green, it moved a few feet (putting us in the middle of the intersection), the vehicle seized and became immobile. Almost every light on the dashboard lit up. Several messages flashed back and forth on the screen including "Service transmission" and then "service electronic stability control". I immediately tried to use the SOS function, and when they answered, they were unable to hear me. A person in a truck behind me told me to put my vehicle in Neutral so that the vehicle could move out of the road as it was blocking traffic. When I tried to turn the gear dial, it turned, but the P light stayed on and the vehicle would not go into Neutral. I checked the parking brake and it was not on, nor would it engage. The vehicle being stalled, with zero ability to move put my children and I in danger as there was not a safe place to even exit the vehicle as traffic was completely surrounding us. I tried to turn off the vehicle, but the vehicle stayed in the "run" function even after being pressed. Emergency services was my only next choice. One more push of the off button and the vehicle finally turned off. I waited for 2 minutes and tried to turn the vehicle on again. It did turn on, showing the check engine light. I then was able to put the car into gear, and it moved. I moved the vehicle out of traffic to the next available parking lot. I immediately contacted the dealership and told them I would be having the vehicle towed there for inspection and I do not feel comfortable driving this vehicle again. Unfortunately, this is the 3rd time my car has put me in a dangerous situation in the middle of an intersection, the other 2 being false crash alerts (turning left in turning lane and car thought I was going into oncoming traffic).

This issue has happened three times. I am on the highway going 70mph, the RPMs fluctuate, the headlights go out and then I lose propulsion/unable to maintain or increase speed. This is a safety concern as it has happened 3 times on the highway with no warning and limited time to pull over to safety. The dealership is unable to replicate the problem or diagnose an issue.

While driving, my vehicle has intermittently lost power without warning, creating a serious safety hazard. The loss of power occurs unexpectedly while the vehicle is in motion and is not associated with any driver input, weather, or road conditions.The issue has occurred on more than one occasion. The first occasion in March 2025. The issue appeared to be temporarily resolved but later recurred, indicating the underlying problem was not corrected. When the loss of power occurs, the vehicle does not respond to acceleration input and behaves as though propulsion is cut off completely. This happens suddenly and without warning while driving.This condition creates a dangerous situation, particularly when driving in traffic or at speed as was the case on 12/4/25 when driving 70 mph on the freeway, the second time the issue occurred for us. The car was immediately brought to the dealership on 12/4/2025 and remains there today. On the first occurrence the dealership attributed it to low battery charge and replaced both batteries. The dealership has performed inspections and diagnostics including:Battery testing and replacement,Wiring and harness inspections,Software updates to vehicle control modules,Extended road testing.Despite these efforts:The issue has not been permanently resolved,The dealership has stated the concern could not be duplicated,The dealership has indicated that fault codes were not always present. A STAR case has been opened, Jeep Customer Care has been contacted regarding this issue, and a field technician has been requested to come to the dealership to assess the vehicle. Despite repeated service visits I am submitting this complaint to report a recurring, intermittent loss-of-power condition that may not consistently trigger diagnostic fault codes but poses a serious safety risk for the car occupants and other drivers on the road surrounding this vehicle.
