2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Car cut off while driving, again. Full dashboard started to flash, warnings, stated that there was no battery, no gas. I was stopped in traffic and managed to pull over and had restart the car. This is the second time that it has cut off while driving . The first time my toddler son was in the car in morning traffic and it cut off. This is an extreme safety hazard for myself, my family and others driving. The entire system failed. It was supposedly fixed before but the problem is still there.

This vehicle has now experienced three separate incidents of sudden loss of propulsion while traveling at highway speeds, requiring it to be towed to the dealership on all three occasions. Each incident involved the same dangerous defect, and after each repair I was assured, the vehicle had been repaired and was safe to operate. Despite those assurances, the identical defect has continued to recur. This is not simply a customer satisfaction issue; it is an ongoing safety issue that places my family and every motorist around us at significant for catastrophic event. On May 12, 2025, I took delivery of my 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee High Altitude. On June 23, 2025, the vehicle experienced its first sudden loss of propulsion while traveling at highway speed and was towed to Ryan Auto Mall in Buffalo, Minnesota. On January 5, 2026, the identical defect occurred again. The vehicle once again lost propulsion while traveling at highway speed and was towed to the dealership. From January 5, 2026, through May 13, 2026, my vehicle remained at the dealership for approximately four and one-half months while Stellantis and its authorized dealer attempted to diagnose and repair the recurring defect. Following that extended repair process, I was advised that the vehicle had been repaired and that the issue had been resolved. Settlement Agreement: On May 13, 2026, I executed a Release Agreement with FCA US LLC. As part of the negotiated settlement, I was required to enter into a lease for a 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The only reason I agreed to sign the Release Agreement and enter into the new lease was because I relied on Stellantis' representations that the 2025 Jeep had been successfully repaired and that the dangerous defect had been permanently corrected. Had I been informed that the vehicle remained susceptible to the same failure, I would never have agreed to retain the vehicle or execute the related lease agreement.

I am writing to formally report a serious safety issue with my brand-new Jeep Grand Cherokee (got it from DARCARS Rockville, MD dealership) and to request immediate resolution under warranty and applicable consumer protection laws. I purchased this vehicle with the expectation of reliability, safety, and comfort for my family. Unfortunately, within a very short period of ownership, the vehicle has experienced repeated and dangerous failures. On 17th April 2026, while traveling at approximately 65 mph on a highway in Pennsylvania around 1:00 AM, the vehicle suddenly shut down without warning. This created an extremely hazardous situation for my family. We contacted roadside assistance, but no help arrived until approximately 8:00 AM. Due to freezing temperatures and lack of heat in the vehicle, we were forced to call 911 for assistance and were transported to a nearby hotel around 3:30 AM. The vehicle was subsequently towed to a dealership, where diagnostics were performed. We were informed that the issue was related to a coding or malfunction and that it had been resolved. However, just two days later, while returning home, the exact same issue occurred again under similar conditions—vehicle shutdown at highway speed. Once again, we were stranded at night, forced to rely on emergency services, and did not reach home until approximately 4:30 AM. This pattern of failure is unacceptable and represents a severe safety defect. My family’s safety was put at significant risk on two separate occasions. As a result, we have completely lost confidence in the vehicle’s reliability and safety. While driving approximately 70 mph on the highway, my 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe experienced a sudden and complete loss of power without warning. This created a dangerous situation with risk of collision. The vehicle is also subject to an active recall related to high-voltage battery fire risk, which prevents safe charging and normal hybrid operation. Additionally, at approximately 12,000 miles, the vehicle developed a transmission pump failure requiring repair. Due to these combined issues, I do not feel the vehicle is safe to operate, particularly when transporting my children. This incident represents a serious safety concern involving loss of propulsion at highway speeds.

I purchased a 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo earlier this year. The salesman told me that the fuel cover locks when the doors are locked, but the cover does not lock. I sent an email to Stallantis, the corporation to Jeep and inquired about this. They replied that all 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokees should have lock gas covers. (See uploaded file) I also tried to purchase a lock cap for my car, but I couldn't find one AND I LOOKED ALL OVER. A vehicle that does not have a locking mechanism to the gas tank leaves it vulnerable to vandalism. Substances can be inserted into the gas tank that could cause permanent damage to the engine. And since Stellantis indicated that all the these vehicles should have a locking gas mechanism, IT IS CLEARLY A MANUFACTURING DEFECT. I am requesting that you instruct Jeep to have a recall on all of the vehicles that do not have locking gas cap mechanisms and have them installed. The "date this incident occurred" is the date of the vehicle purchase, February 11, 2025.

Vehicle: 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe Anniversary Edition Lease Start: April 2025 Mileage: ~5,000 mi This vehicle has now been subject to two major battery-related safety recalls within the first year of lease: A “Stop Propulsion” recall that rendered the vehicle inoperable until a module replacement was performed. The current Recall 68C (battery fire risk) covering 2021-2026 Wrangler and Grand Cherokee 4xe vehicles. According to Jeep and NHTSA, owners are advised to park outdoors and away from structures or other vehicles because the high-voltage battery could catch fire even when parked and turned off. There is no available remedy or timeline for a fix. This has created an ongoing safety risk to me and my family, along with substantial loss of use and financial burden under my lease. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate the scope and timeliness of Jeep/Stellantis’s corrective action and determine whether interim guidance or consumer relief is warranted for vehicles that cannot be safely used or stored.

While driving vehicle goes into limp mode I lose acceleration but RPMs on dashboard jump into the red zone and various warning lights show up I coast off to the side and put vehicle in park and shut off engine. When I restart everything clears and vehicle is normal again. This happened 3 times so far and dealer had the car 12 days and cannot duplicate the problem saying no codes show up show up on the scanner.
