Since I first leased my vehicle in May of 2023, I have received over 7 safety recalls. At least 2 of which are related to the main battery of the hybrid power system. Ever since I got the first one, I was recommended to park my car outside my house for risk of fire while parked. The latest recall, which has not been resolved involved the battery again and after taking the car to the dealer, the battery did not pass the test and the dealer requested I leave the car with them and advised this will take about a month to correct if they can correct it at all.

On December 17, 2025, I brought my 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe (30th Anniversary Edition) to Los Angeles Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram for safety recall 68C involving the high-voltage (HV) battery. The dealer performed the required recall software update/flash and diagnostic and confirmed the vehicle failed 68C, meaning the HV traction battery pack requires replacement. The vehicle remains at the dealer and is available for inspection. I cannot take the vehicle home even if I tried: per the recall process it must remain at the dealer once it fails, and the software flash/diagnostic effectively “bricked” the vehicle, rendering it undriveable until the HV battery is replaced. This defect involves the HV battery, a critical energy-storage component with serious safety implications. The problem has been confirmed by an authorized dealer; no police/insurance inspection. The dealer initially stated the battery would arrive around January 12, 2026, but it did not. At ~4 weeks out of service I called the dealer for an update—no ETA, status, or tracking. The dealer has never proactively contacted me. At ~8 weeks I called Jeep Cares—no ETA, tracking, or meaningful update; they only contacted the dealer. I am still making payments on a vehicle immobilized at the dealer for ~9 weeks due to the recall remedy delay. I also did not receive the $100 recall compensation gift cards and Jeep Cares has not resolved that. I am filing this complaint because the recall remedy is not being provided within a reasonable time, leaving me without transportation and without any timeline for a critical safety-recall repair.

Event 2 – Complete Stall / Electrical Blackout at Highway Speed Date: January 21, 2026Location: Interstate 19, Arizona While traveling at highway speed, the vehicle experienced sudden and complete loss of propulsion. Engine power shut off while in motion. Instrument cluster and electrical systems went fully black. Vehicle would not restart. Power steering response was minimal. Brake response was significantly reduced.• Hazard lights were inoperative shortly after the stall and remained in complete blackout. The loss of propulsion and electrical systems occurred in active highway traffic, creating multiple immediate exposure hazard. A manufacturer-directed tow was initiated following the event. Post stall Service Following the Jan 6 event Service records reflect replacement of the hybrid battery following shutdown and low voltage findings. It further states they performed safety recalls and software updates that did not address the issues. The dealer was notified immediately, and they disengaged. Subsequent dealership communication indicated refusal to continue diagnostic or warranty involvement. The loss of propulsion and electrical systems occurred in active highway traffic, creating multiple immediate exposure hazard. A manufacturer-directed tow was initiated following the event.Safety Concern Primary concerns include: Unexpected propulsion loss at highway speed. I am reporting a serious safety issue involving my 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee hybrid. The vehicle has experienced repeated stalling and loss of propulsion while driving, including in active traffic and in a school pickup line. The vehicle has unexpectedly failed to accelerate or start, creating dangerous situations for myself, my passengers, and surrounding vehicles. The vehicle has stalled in traffic and at low speeds without warning. On multiple occasions, it lost propulsion while driving, requiring me to stop unexpectedly. One incident occurred in a school pickup line, causing traffic disruption and creating a safety risk with children present. In addition, the vehicle is subject to a high-voltage battery safety recall due to fire risk. I have been advised that the vehicle is unsafe to park in a garage, and I am concerned about the risk of fire. At this time, there is no permanent repair available for the recall. Despite reporting these issues and seeking service, the safety defects remain unresolved. The combination of stalling, loss of propulsion, and fire risk makes the vehicle unsafe to operate and unsafe to park. I am requesting that NHTSA review this matter as a safety defect involving loss of power, stalling, and fire risk.

Ostensibly due to running in electric mode for too long, FORM is an engine and fuel safety measure. Since this vehicle was under recall 68C until earlier this week and had not been operable in electric mode at all since September, this excuse fails demonstrably. It has been in FORM since the recall was completed. Having a Jeep in winter that is not operable in electric mode in snow and ice when the potential exists that gas mode doesn't function and the 24 "reserve" miles are not available in electric mode, poses a significant risk. Secondarily, in last winter and this, hybrid use is unavailable for months.

On approximately November 15th 2025, I took my 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xE In for a routine oil change and tire rotation to Fred Martin Super Store in Barberton , Ohio. Upon completion on the service I was told that there was a recall on my vehicle and I was not to park in my garage or plug the vehicle in due to risk of fire coming from the Hybrid Battery. I immediately called the service department at Fred Martin Super Store in Barberton Ohio to see if this recall was accurate. The Service Department Rep did confirm verbally that there was a recall and again NOT TO PARK IN MY GARAGE OR PLUG THE VECHILE IN DUE TO FIRE RISK. I was told the parts were not available to fix the problem at this time. This vehicle is not safe to have on or near my property and is not functioning the way it is intended. I have contacted Jeep multiple times and filed multiple grievances to ask for a vehicle buy out or a lease termination with out penalty and have been denied. This repair has not been done or remedied in a timely manner, and is still unsafe to have or drive.

My 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe (VIN [XXX] ) is affected by two separate federal safety recalls involving the high-voltage battery: Recall 95B / NHTSA 24V-720 and the newly issued Recall 68C / NHTSA 25V-741. Both recalls warn of a potential vehicle fire and instruct owners to stop recharging the battery and to park the vehicle away from structures and other vehicles due to fire risk. These warnings appear directly in the recall notices I received. Recall 95B / NHTSA 24V-720 states that the battery pack may contain cells susceptible to separator damage which, combined with internal cell interactions, may lead to a vehicle fire. Owners are advised not to recharge and to park away from structures. Recall 68C / NHTSA 25V-741 states that under normal vehicle operation, the high-voltage battery may become damaged and lead to a vehicle fire, again instructing owners not to recharge and to park away from structures. These are virtually identical safety defects occurring back-to-back in the same high-voltage battery system. The 68C recall states explicitly that no remedy is currently available and there is no ETA, leaving me with a vehicle that cannot safely be parked at my home, charged, or operated as intended. I am now unable to use the hybrid/electric functionality at all, despite paying a premium for a plug-in hybrid vehicle. I am forced to operate the vehicle only in degraded gasoline mode with significantly reduced functionality and safety. The ongoing fire risk, inability to recharge, and requirement to park away from cars and buildings create a daily hardship and significant safety concern for my family. This is a serious safety defect affecting the same critical system twice in less than a year, and with no available remedy the vehicle remains unsafe to charge, unsafe to park near structures, and unable to function as advertised. Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2021-2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L, 2022-2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee, and Jeep Grand Cherokee 4XE vehicles. The rear coil springs may be incorrectly installed and detach from the vehicle while driving.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: Rear coil springs that detach from the vehicle while driving increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will replace the rear coil spring lower isolators, free of charge. Interim notification letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, are expected to be mailed September 29, 2026. Additional letters will be sent once the final remedy is available. Owners may contact FCA US, LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA US, LLC's number for this recall is 89D. A software error may cause the transmission gear selection indicator not to display. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 102, "Transmission shift lever sequence, starter interlock, and transmission braking effect."
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: A missing gear selection indicator may lead to unintended vehicle movement or a vehicle rollaway, increasing the risk of a crash.

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2020-2025 Jeep Wrangler 4Xe and 2022-2026 Grand Cherokee 4Xe vehicles. The high voltage battery may fail internally and lead to a vehicle fire while parked or driving.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: A vehicle fire can increase the risk of injury.
Remedy: Owners are advised to park outside and away from structures and not to charge their vehicles until the remedy is completed. Dealers will update the high voltage battery software, and replace the high voltage battery, as necessary, free of charge. Some owner notification letters were mailed beginning December 17, 2025. The remaining owner notification letters will be mailed at a later date. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is 68C. The blower motor may fail, which can cause the defrosting and defogging system to be inoperative. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 103, "Windshield Defrosting and Defogging Systems."
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: An inoperative windshield defrosting and defogging system may decrease the driver's visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.

An improperly secured connector for the front seat side air bags (SAB) may prevent the air bags from deploying. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 214, "Side Impact Protection."
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: An air bag that does not deploy during a crash increases the risk of injury.

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) (Stellantis) is recalling certain 2023-2024 Ram 1500, Jeep Wrangler, Jeep Wagoneer, Jeep Grand Wagoneer, Chrysler Pacifica, Ram 3500, Ram 3500 cab chassis, Ram 2500, Ram 4500 cab chassis, Ram 5500 cab chassis, 2023 Jeep Gladiator, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Jeep Grand Cherokee L, Ram 3500 Cab Chassis with a GVWR less than 10,000 lbs., and Chrysler Voyager vehicles. The steering column control module may not be welded properly, which can prevent the driver's air bag from deploying in a crash. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 208, "Occupant Crash Protection."
Consequence: An air bag that does not deploy in a crash can increase the risk of injury.
Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the steering column control module, as necessary free of charge. Some owner notification letters were mailed April 11, 2024 through June 20, 2024. Consequence: A rearview image that does not display while in reverse decreases the driver's visibility of the rear view, increasing the risk of injury or crash.

Consequence: Rear coil springs that detach from the vehicle while driving increases the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will inspect and if necessary, repair the rear coil spring assemblies, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 29, 2023.
