MY INTERIOR HANDLES ON ALL 4 DOORS HAVE BEEN CRACKED FOR YEARS BUT NOW THEY ARE COMPLETELY CRUMBLED. AT FIRST, I HAD TO OPEN THE DOOR FOR PASSENGERS IN THE REAR SEATS, THEN, WHOMEVER WAS IN MY PASSENGER SEAT, THEY HAD TO WAIT FOR ME TO GO AROUND & OPEN THE DOOR FOR THEM. THEY COULD NOT GET OUT FROM THE INSIDE. IT WAS A HASSLE BUT I MOSTLY DRIVE ALONE, SO I TOLERATED IT. AS OF YESTERDAY, I NOW HAVE TO OPEN MY WINDOW, (DRIVERS SIDE), TO OPEN MY DOOR FROM THE OUTSIDE BECAUSE IT'S CRACK TO THE POINT, THAT I CAN'T OPEN MY DOOR FROM THE INSIDE ANY LONGER. IT'S A VERY UNSAFE SITUATION. IF I WAS IN AN ACCIDENT & NEEDED TO GET OUT I WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO. YEARS AGO, THE JEEP DEALERSHIP IN CLEARWATER, FL. WAS GOING TO REPLACE DOOR PANELS, TO REPLACE THE HANDLES, BUT THE DISTRICT MGR THAT OK'D WAS TRANSFERRED & THE NEW DISTRICT MGR. REFUSED. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE, COULD BE A MATTER OF LIFE & DEATH. I'M HOPING & PRAYING YOU WILL DO SOMETHING TO REMEDY THIS. IF NOT, I'M THINKING OF CALLING THE LOCAL NEWS. ALL 4 INTERIOR DOOR OPENING HANDLES HAVE CRACKED, BROKEN & CRUMBLED. DOOR HANDLES ARE TOTALLY INOPERABLE. THIS IS A DANGEROUS SAFETY ISSUE ' IN AN EMERGENCY SITUATION DRIVER & PASSENGERS WILL NOT BE ABLE TO EXIT THE VEHICLE, CAUSING SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH! MANUFACTURER SAFETY RECALL WARRANTED!

I RECENTLY PURCHASED A USED 2005 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE LIMITED (5.7 HEMI). THE VEHICLE IS IN VERY GOOD SHAPE FOR IT'S AGE EXCEPT FOR THE FACT THAT THREE OF THE FOUR INTERIOR DOOR HANDLES ARE BROKEN. THE ONLY HANDLE THAT ISN'T COMPLETELY BROKEN IS THE REAR DRIVER SIDE DOOR. THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE DOOR HAS HAS A HOLE IN THE PLASTIC ABOUT THE SIZE OF A QUARTER. THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE DOOR HAS ALSO HAS A HOLE AND ALMOST ALL OF THE PLASTIC HOUSING IS MISSING. FORTUNATELY, BOTH OF THESE DOOR HANDLES ARE STILL OPERATIONAL FROM THE INSIDE. THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE DOOR HAS THE MOST DAMAGE AND ALTHOUGH OPERATIONAL, THERE IS ONLY ONE SMALL PIECE OF PLASTIC THAT IS HOLDING THE PIN THAT CONNECTS THE CABLE TO THE HANDLE. ONCE THE PIN FALLS OUT, THE DOOR WILL NO LONGER BE OPERATIONAL FROM THE INSIDE AND THE PLASTIC THAT IS CURRENTLY HOLDING IT IN PLACE IS EXTREMELY BRITTLE. THE WHOLE MECHANISM THAT OPENS THE DOOR IS EXPOSED THROUGH THE DOOR AND THE ACTUAL HANDLE NO LONGER IS SEATED WHERE IT IS SUPPOSED BE. IT IS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE THE DRIVER DOOR BECOMES INOPERABLE AND THAT IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE.

THIS VEHICLE HAS AN ISSUE WITH "INTENDED ACCELERATION". TWICE THE ENGINE HAS GONE TO WIDE OPEN THROTTLE AT VERY SLOW SPEEDS. FIRST TIME I HAD TIME TO PUT THE TRANSMISSION IN NEUTRAL. SECOND TIME I WENT FOR A VERY SURPRISING RIDE OVER A FOUR FOOT RETAINING WALL . IT LANDED ON THE GRASS WITHOUT TIPPING OVER. I HAVE PARKED THIS CAR AND HAVEN'T RUN IT UNTIL I KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH IT. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS PROBLEM THAT COULD HAPPEN AT ANY TIME AND ANYWHERE.
This defect can affect the safe operation of the airbag system. Until this recall is performed, drivers should adjust their seat to allow clearance between the driver's knee and the ignition key, and remove all items from their key ring, leaving only the vehicle key. Chrysler Group LLC (Chrysler) is recalling certain model year 2005-2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles manufactured February 11, 2004, to July 5, 2007, and 2006-2007 Jeep Commander vehicles manufactured January 31, 2005, to July 5, 2007. In the affected vehicles, the driver may accidentally hit the ignition key with their knee, unintentionally knocking the key out of the run position, turning off the engine.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: If the ignition key inadvertently moves into the OFF or ACCESSORY position, the engine will turn off, which will then depower various key safety systems including but not limited to air bags, power steering, and power braking. Loss of functionality of these systems may increase the risk of crash and/or increase the risk of injury in the event of a crash.
Remedy: Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will replace the ignition switch, free of charge. Chrysler sent interim notifications to owners in September 2014. The recall began on October 9, 2015. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is P41.
Chrysler Group LLC (Chrysler) is recalling certain model year 2005-2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles manufactured February 11, 2004, through March 9, 2010; and 2006-2010 Jeep Commander vehicles manufactured January 31, 2005, through March 10, 2010. A transfer case electrical failure may result in an unintentional shifting of the transfer case into the neutral position.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: If the vehicle shifts into neutral, it may roll away increasing the risk of a crash or personal injury.
Remedy: Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will reflash the final drive controller which governs the transfer case, with new software, free of charge. The recall began on August 15, 2013. Owners may contact Chrysler at 1-800-247-9753. Chrysler's recall campaign number is N23.

ON CERTAIN SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH 3.7L ENGINES AND NAG1 AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS, THE AIR CONDITIONER EVAPORATOR CONDENSATE WATER MAY ENTER THE TRANSMISSION AT THE FILL TUBE GROMMET SEAL. THIS CAN RESULT IN SHUDDER DURING TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH ENGAGEMENT.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: IT CAN LEAD TO INCREASED TRANSMISSION OPERATING TEMPERATURES, BOILING OF THE WATER, AND A SUBSEQUENT PURGING OF TRANSMISSION FLUID INTO THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT POTENTIALLY RESULTING IN AN UNDERHOOD FIRE.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT THE TRANSMISSION FOR LEAKAGE AT THE FILL TUBE GROMMET SEAL. IF NO LEAK IS DETECTED, A NEW FILL TUBE GROMMET SEAL AND WATER DEFLECTOR SHIELD WILL BE INSTALLED, AND PROPER ALIGNMENT OF THE FILL TUBE VERIFIED. IF THE PRESENCE OF A LEAK IS DETECTED, THE VEHICLE WILL BE EVALUATED FOR SHUDDER DURING TORQUE CONVERTER ENGAGEMENT. IF NO SHUDDER IS DETECTED, THE TRANSMISSION WILL BE TRIPLE FLUSHED, AND NEW FILL TUBE GROMMET SEAL AND WATER DEFLECTOR WILL BE INSTALLED AND PROPER ALIGNMENT OF THE FILL TUBE VERIFIED. IF SHUDDER IS DETECTED, THE TORQUE CONVERTER WILL BE REPLACED, A NEW FILL TUBE GROMMET SEAL AND WATER DEFLECTOR WILL BE INSTALLED, AND PROPER ALIGNMENT OF THE FILL TUBE VERIFIED. THE RECALL BEGAN ON OCTOBER 31, 2005. OWNERS MAY CONTACT DAIMLERCHRYSLER AT 1-800-853-1403.
