Dash lights will not dim and will not respond to dimmer switch. This causes a dangerous glare when driving at night and causes visibility problems. I am unable to drive my car at all in the dark

Vehicle will not switch to night mode for interior dash and infotainment system display. The center touch screen unit has already been replaced for a separate problems of it turning itself off and staying black with no access to touch screen controls. The option to adjust the night settings is greyed out, so it cannot be selected to adjust. Daytime setting has to be adjusted to lowest setting and is still extremely bright while driving at night. I have had this vehicle into the dealership several times for this issue, the last time the service manager had to drive the vehicle at night to "duplicate" the problem. I had to go to the dealership, sit in the car and show him exactly what was going on. It is very difficult to drive at night with bright dash and center display lights. I have reported this as a safety issue several times in writing. I was told Jeep is working on a fix for this problem, but it has been several months now, with no fix. I email weekly for an update.

My instrument cluster/dashboard glitched and became stuck in night mode. Whenever I would drive during daytime hours it became impossible to see my radio screen along with my speedometer since it's all a screen. Because of this I can barely see my speed or fuel level or any alerts along with not being able to see my GPS screen. I brought it to the dealer and they have no fix for it yet so it's been sitting at the dealership over a month. I am currently trying to get Jeep to buy the car back from me. Thank you!

This creates a driving hazard at night because the lights are so bright that I cannot see other cars, the road or road signs as clearly as I should. I took my car to a jeep dealership and they told me it's a known issue but jeep currently has no fix for it. The dealership provided me with their internal publication regarding internal lights that are too dim but this is the opposite problem than what I have. I told this to the service tech but he did not provide a response. I have attached the document

The dash lighting and radio are not dimmable, nearly impossible to see in bright daylight. Radio flashes on and off. Freezes up. Screens and input changes intermittently. The lights are sometimes too dark to see at night and dimmer switches don't do anything. I have had numerous problems with the electrical issues with this vehicle. There needs to be an investigation or recall for these issues. They get fixed at the dealership, only to return. Lastly, the defroster won't turn off. Heat is directed through the defroster and rear center stack when only on floor mode. Dealer says they fixed it and operating normally, but it isn't. Just too many issues with this vehicle. Seems to all be electrical in nature.

Unable to dim dash lights/touch panel or rear view mirror for safe night driving. Began about 6 weeks ago. Jeep has known about this for months as it is reported on the Jeep Compass forum going back prior to Aug 2022. The touch panel can be turned off with a button, but due to the “software glitch” the manual dash dimmer knob will not function and vehicle is unable to recognize its night. I now drive with an envelope covering my instrument panel with only the speedometer visible due to the brightness after almost going off the road last week when I could not see a deer in front of me until the last minute due to the excessive brightness and glare. Other consumers have suggested unhooking batteries and hard resets, but also report problem returns. Dealers report being unable to fix issue with changing components and more vehicles being brought in weekly for same issue. Vehicles should be recalled and a manual dimmer switch installed that functions independently of the light sensor before people start getting killed, if accidents have not already occurred due to this. I contacted Jeep last week and was told a dealer would get back to me- nothing.

The cluster panel dimmer toggle for my 2022 Jeep Compass does not work correctly anymore. It stays very bright even at night and I cannot adjust it darker. I took it to my local Jeep dealership for service and they said it's a software problem and they cannot fix it until Jeep recalls it and fixes it themselves. The instrument panel is so bright that I cannot drive my car at night because it causes night blindness and I cannot see traffic. The toggle switch worked correctly for the first 6 months of having my SUV, but then one day it did not and now it cannot be fixed.
Display on dash is stuck in "night mode", during the day I can not see my speedometer nor my gas gauge.
