Sudden and permanent brake failure on the electric trailer brakes. Jayco dual axle RV/Camping trailer w/electric brakes (Lippert 3500lb axles) * Electric Brake wires that connect the left and right brakes are run through the axle tubes * The wires are not shielded and can bounce up and down within the axle tubes * Eventually the thin insulation on the wires is denigrated and the the electric brake circuit shorts to ground causing sudden and permanent brake failure with out warning * This situation can have a catastrophic effect on not only the operator of the tow RV but to the motoring public at large * The workmanship of the electric brakes system is "Poor-at-Best" * Connectors are not sealed from the elements and road debris * The Electric Brake wiring is not supported and will eventually ground out * This is not an "IF"...It is a "WHEN" scenario as it occurred on my RV within the first year of ownership. * I recommend that the NTHSA investigate and demand Jayco issue a recall to bypass and relocate the brake wires to outside of the axle tubes and to shield and secure the wires to the top of the axles. * I also recommend that all Brake wiring connections be soldered and sealed
