TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 JAGUAR XF. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND SPEAKERS MALFUNCTIONED. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 08V607000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) AND TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER CONTROL MODULE SOFTWARE WOULD NEED TO BE RECONFIGURED BUT HER VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL CAMPAIGN. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 42,000.

THE NEXT DAY, I WAS AGAIN IN A PARKING LOT AND AS I TRY TO PARK, THE ENGINE ACCELERATES WILDLY. I WAS ABLE TO HOLD THE CAR WITH THE BRAKES AND PUT IT INTO PARK. ONCE IN PARK, THE ENGINE CONTINUED TO REV. THE SHIFTER WAS NOW STUCK. I TAPPED THE SHIFTER AND THAT ALLOWED ME TO SHIFT THE CAR AND THE ENGINE WENT TO NORMAL OPERATION. Unless included in "Zone A" above, Jaguar is recalling certain 2010 Jaguar XF vehicles, originally sold, or ever registered, in Arizona, Arkansas, Delaware, District of Columbia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia, or "Zone B." Unless included in Zone A and Zone B above, Jaguar is recalling certain 2009 MY Jaguar XF vehicles, originally sold, or ever registered, in Alaska, Colorado, Connecticut, Idaho, Iowa, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, New Hampshire, New York, North Dakota, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Utah, Vermont, Washington, Wisconsin, and Wyoming or "Zone C." These vehicles are equipped with certain air bag inflators assembled as part of the passenger frontal air bag modules used as original equipment or replacement equipment. Consequence & remedy
Consequence: An inflator explosion may result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants resulting in serious injury or death.
Remedy: Jaguar will notify owners, and dealers will replace the front passenger air bag assemblies, free of charge. The recall began June 27, 2018. Owners may contact Jaguar customer service at 1-800-452-4827. Jaguar's number for this recall is J071.

Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Jaguar) is recalling certain model year 2009, 2011, 2012 and 2015 XF vehicles manufactured February 6, 2008 to October 20, 2014. In the affected vehicles, the driver frontal air bags may be missing a chemical enhancer required for the second stage deployment, resulting in the second stage deploying improperly in certain crashes.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: An air bag that inflates improperly increases the risk of injury.
Remedy: Jaguar will notify owners, and dealers will replace the driver frontal air bag module, free of charge. The recall began on May 5, 2016. Owners may contact Jaguar customer service at 1-800-452-4827. Jaguar's number for this recall is J065.

JAGUAR IS RECALLING 3,754 MY 2009 XF VEHICLES FOR INSTRUMENT CLUSTER SPEAKER FUNCTION PROBLEMS. THE SPEAKER WIRES MAY FRACTURE. AS A RESULT, THE SPEAKER WILL CEASE TO OPERATE.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: IF THE SPEAKER FAILS, THE FOLLOWING AUDIBLE NOTIFICATIONS ARE IMPACTED: TURN INDICATOR, SEAT BELT WARNING, LIGHTS 'ON' WARNING, DRIVER'S DOOR OPEN WITH KEY IN IGNITION, DRIVER INTERVENE (ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL VEHICLES ONLY) AND SEAT MEMORY. THE AUDIBLE SEAT BELT WARNING IS TO REMIND DRIVERS TO WEAR THEIR SAFETY BELT. IF THE AUDIBLE WARNING IS NOT PRESENT, DRIVERS MAY NEGLECT TO WEAR THEIR SAFETY BELT, THEREBY INCREASING THE RISK OF INJURY OR DEATH IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL VERIFY THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER SPEAKER FUNCTION AND RECONFIGURE THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER CONTROL MODULE SOFTWARE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON DECEMBER 5, 2008. OWNERS MAY CONTACT JAGUAR AT 1-800-452-4827.

JAGUAR IS RECALLING 7,918 MY 2009 XF VEHICLES. THE REAR SAFETY BELT D-RING ASSEMBLY MAY NOT ROTATE PROPERLY AROUND THE SAFETY BELT ANCHORAGE MOUNTING BOLT. IF THE ASSEMBLY IS NOT HELD TOGETHER WHEN TIGHTENING, THE D-RING AND/OR WASHER CAN SEPARATE FROM THE SHOULDER OF THE SPACER, ALLOWING THESE PARTS TO BE PARTIALLY CLAMPED BY THE SPACER, FORMING A BURR ON EITHER THE D-RING OR THE WASHER AND SUBSEQUENTLY LIMITING PROPER ROTATION OF THE D-RING.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH, A SEAT OCCUPANT MAY NOT BE PROPERLY RESTRAINED INCREASING THE RISK OF PERSONAL INJURY.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT THE OUTBOARD REAR SAFETY BELT D-RING AND, IF NECESSARY, THE D-RING ASSEMBLY WILL BE REMOVED AND ANY BURRS ON THE D-RING OR WASHER FILED FLAT. THE D-RING ASSEMBLY WILL THEN BE REINSTALLED TO CORRECT THE CONDITION. THE RECALL BEGAN ON AUGUST 29, 2008. OWNERS MAY CONTACT JAGUAR AT 1-800-452-4827.
