ON JUN 5, 2005, I WAS DRIVING 65 MILES AND HOUR ON INTERSTATE 90 WEST, WHEN MY 1999 ISUZU TROOPER'S ENGINE FAILED. IMMEDIATELY, BEFORE THE ENGIE STOPPED, I HEARED A RATTELING NOISE, EVERY LIGHT ON THE DASHBOARD LIT UP, AND THE ENGINE SHUT OFF. LUCKILY, I WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF THE HIGHWAY SAFELY. I EVENTUALLY HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO DORSCHEL ISUZU IN ROCHESTER, NY, WHERE UPON COMPLETION OF A DIAGNOSTIC , FOUND THAT THE ENGINE HAD SEIZED UP. DORSCHEL THEN GAVE ME AN ESTIMATE OF $8,000 TO REPAIR MY VEHICLE, WICH BY THE WAY, HAPPENS O BE ABOVE BLUE BOOK. I CONTACTED VISION HYUNDAI TO SEEK ASSISTANCE, AND OFFERED NO HEL TO ME WHAT SO EVER. I HAD PURCHASED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY WITH THEM FOR 72/80,000 AND WAS TOLD BY VISION'S SERVICE MANAGER, DAVE THAT MY CLAIM WOULD BE DENIED EVEN THOUGH I SHOWED PROOF OF MY LAST TWO OIL CHANGES. I SOUGHT ASSISTANCE FROM ISUZU, AND WAS TOLD THAT SINCE THE VEHICLE WARRANTY EXPIRED IN 9/04 THEY WEREN'T GOING TO DO ANYTHING FOR ME, EVEN THOUGH THEY WERE AWARE THAT THERE WERE PROBLEMS WITH THE VEHICLE MADE IN 1999. AT THIS POINT, I AM STILL PAYING A CAR LOAN AND INSURANCE FOR A VEHICLE I CAN'T EVEN DRIVE.
