THE STANDARD QX56 COMES WITH MORE THAN ADEQUATE ROOM FOR ANY SIZE SHOE ON THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. LESS THAN 10% OF THE QX MODELS ARE ORDERED WITH THE TECHNOLOGY PACKAGE. THIS PACKAGE INCLUDES A DESIGN FEATURE THAT CAUSES THE GAS PEDAL TO PUSH BACK AGAINST THE OPERATORS FOOT IF THE RADAR SENSES THAT THE VEHICLE IS CLOSING DISTANCE TOO QUICKLY ON THE VEHICLE AHEAD. THE MECHANICAL/ELECTRICAL DEVICE THAT PERFORMS THIS ACTION IS MOUNTED TO THE FIREWALL AT THE TOP OF THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. I AM 6'3" TALL AND HAVE A SIZE 12 SHOE. THE TIP OF MY SHOE KEEPS GETTING CAUGHT UNDER THIS MECHANICAL DEVICE AND ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS IN THE FIRST WEEK OF OWNERSHIP IT HAS CAUSED A MOMENTARY DELAY IN QUICKLY MOVING FROM THE ACCELERATOR TO THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE HANG UP OF THE TIP OF MY SHOE IS EXAGGERATED GREATLY BY DRESS SHOES WITH A FIRMER TIP OF THE SOLE OF THE SHOE. AGAIN, THIS DEVICE IS ONLY PRESENT ON QX MODELS WITH THE TECHNOLOGY PACKAGE. THIS TECH PACKAGE DEVICE ALSO GETS IN THE WAY AS YOU GO TO PUSH ON THE GAS PEDAL. THE ONLY WAY TO AVOID THIS PROBLEM IS TO ALWAYS REMEMBER TO PLACE YOUR RIGHT HEEL AT LEAST 2" AWAY FROM THE BASE OF THE GAS PEDAL AND PUSH IT ONLY WITH YOUR TOES. MOVING YOUR HEEL AWAY FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE PEDAL RESULTS IN THE TIP OF YOUR SHOE TOUCHING THE PEDAL LOWER AND JUST BRUSHING THE UNDERSIDE OF THE TECH PACKAGE DEVICE. I HAVE CONTACTED CONSUMER SUPPORT AT INFINITI USA AND THEY HAVE TOLD ME THAT THEY HAVE HAD COMPLAINTS BUT "THAT'S JUST THE WAY IT IS FOR PEOPLE WITH BIGGER FEET". I GUESS THEY DON'T HAVE SIZE 12 IN JAPAN. THIS IS A HAZARD WHEN THE TIP OF MY RIGHT SHOE GETS CAUGHT AND PREVENTS ME FROM MOVING QUICKLY TO THE BRAKE. *TT
