I HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH MY TIBURON SINCE I GOT THE CAR MOST OF THE THINGS HAVE BEEN COVERED BY WARRANTY. NOVEMBER 17 2001 THE CAR HAD 2486 MILES ON IT THE ALARM STARTED GOING OFF WHILE I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. I GOT IT TURNED OFF ABOUT 20 MINUTES LATER AND FOR THE NEXT TWO DAYS THE ALARM KEPT GOING OFF FOR NO REASON. NOV 20 I COULDN?T GET IT TO TURN OFF AT ALL SO I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE SAID A WIRE SHORTED OUT AND FIXED IT AT NO COST TO ME. IN DECEMBER OF 2002 THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR STARTED STICKING AND ONE DAY I CAME OUT OF WORK AND IT WOULDN?T OPEN AT ALL I TOOK IT IN TO THE DEALER THEY SAID THE DOOR WAS FALLING OFF AND THAT THEY REPLACED A LATCH AT NO COST TO ME. THE CAR WAS AT 17642 MILES AT THIS TIME. THE DAY BEFORE MY APPT FOR THE DOOR I WAS DRIVING AND ALL THE SUDDEN THE RADIO JUST WENT OFF AND WOULDN?T COME ON. THEY HAD TO REPLACE THE RADIO ALSO AT NO COST TO ME. JANUARY OF 03 WAS WHEN THE BIG PROBLEM STARTED WITH THE ENGINE THE CAR WOULDN?T START I HAD IT TOWED TO HYUNDAI THEY SAID THERE WAS CARBON BUILD UP ON THE ENGINE. THEY CLEANED IT AND GAVE IT BACK THEY DIDN?T FIND THE CAUSE AND DIDN?T EXPLAIN ANYTHING ELSE TO ME. BUT AT THAT TIME THE CAR ONLY HAD 18704 MILES ON IT. SINCE THEN THE CAR HAS HAD PROBLEMS STARTING I?VE TAKEN IT BACK TO THE DEALER A FEW TIMES THE CAR DIED ON THE ROAD AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON I HAD IT TOWED IN THEY SAID IT WAS JUST THE SPARK PLUGS BATTERY WAS FINE AND THAT THE CAR WAS DUE FOR A TUNE UP WHICH COST ME $282.12 THE CAR WAS AT 27666 MILES THEY ALSO REPLACED THE OXYGEN SENSOR THAT DAY {11/9/03} AT NO COST TO ME. I GOT THE CAR BACK {28909 MILES}. IT STILL WON?T RUN RIGHT AND HAD A HARD TIME STARTING. I TOOK THE CAR BACK ON 10/21/03. THEY SAID THAT THE BATTERY HAD A BAD CELL. I DIDN?T WANT TO PAY THEM FOR ANYTHING BUT THE TECH THERE SAID IF I DIDN?T THEY COULDN?T LOOK AT THE CAR ANYMORE UNTIL THEY RULED OUT THE BATTERY BEING THE PROBLEM SO I SPENT $58.37 ON A BATTERY.
MY VEHICLE HAS PROBLEMS WITH THE TIRES, BRAKES AND TRANSMISSION. THE DEALER HAS DONE REPAIRS AND CORRECT TO SOME EXTENT. HOWEVER, MANY ISSUES HAVE NOT BEEN ADDRESSED OR REMEDIED AND NOW THEY REFUSE TO SERVICE THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE. *NLM
THE EMERGENCY BRAKE LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND THE REAR TIRES LOCKED UP, THE DEALER REPLACED THE BRAKE LINE. *JB
PROBLEM WITH BRAKES WHEN WET (IE: IF CAR IS WASHED OR IF STREET IS WET. BRAKES TEND TO "GRAB" WHEN WET. HAD BRAKES PADS & ROTORS CHECKED OUT RECENTLY, WAS TOLD NO SIGN OF WEAR.*AK

VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: PASSENGER VEHICLES. THE DRIVER AND FRONT PASSENGER SEAT BELTS MAY NOT EXTEND AND RETRACT SMOOTHLY THROUGH THE D-RING GUIDES MOUNTED ON THE BODY PILLARS AFT OF THE DOORS. IF THE SEAT BELTS DO NOT EXTEND AND RETRACT SMOOTHLY, THEY MAY TWIST IN THE D-RING GUIDES AND MAKE IT INCONVENIENT TO EXTEND AND RETRACT THE SEAT BELTS.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: IF THE SEAT BELTS ARE INCONVENIENT TO USE, THE SEAT OCCUPANT MAY NOT BE INCLINED TO WEAR THE SEAT BELTS PROPERLY, INCREASING THE RISK OF INJURY IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSTALL A STOPPER OVER EACH FRONT SEAT BELT D-RING GUIDE TO ASSIST THE SEAT BELT TO SMOOTHLY EXTEND AND RETRACT. OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN DECEMBER 10, 2001. OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT HYUNDAI AT 1-800-633-5151.
