THE AUTO DIMMING FEATURE ON THIS VEHICLE COULD BE A NICE FEATURE IF IT WORKS PROPERLY AS IT WOULD HELP BLINDING DRIVERS ON THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION WHILE KEEPING ME SAFE AS WELL. HERE IS THE PROBLEM. WHILE TRAVELING ON HIGHWAY 93 FROM LAS VEGAS TO PHOENIX AZ THE HIGH BEAN ENGAGED DUE TO VERY DARK ROAD CONDITION. HOWEVER THE BACK RED LIGHT OF A VEHICLE ONE MILE AWAY CAUSES THE HIGH BEAN TO DISENGAGED LEAVING ME IN THE DARK AGAIN. WHAT IS EVEN WORSE IS THAT A VEHICLE COMING ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE ROAD (NOT ON THE SAME ROAD I AM DRIVING ON) I MEAN THE OTHER CONTRARY SIDE. WHENEVER, IT SENSE ANY LIGHT AT ANY DISTANCE VISIBLE TO THE NAKED EYE, IT WILL ALSO DISENGAGE THE HIGH BEAN. ON FEB 20, 2016 AROUND 8:30PM WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY 93 FROM LAS VEGAS TO PHOENIX AZ I LOST FRONT HEADLIGHT ILLUMINATION TWO TIMES AS I WAS TRYING TO MANUALLY SWITCH THE LOW BEAN TO HIGH BEAN AFTER THE HIGH BEAN HAD ENGAGED DUE TO THE DARKNESS AND LACK OF ENOUGH ILLUMINATION; THEN IT DISENGAGED AFTER SENSING EITHER THE REAR READ LIGHT OF A VEHICLE ONE MILE IN FRONT OF ME LEAVING ME IN THE DARK AGAIN. Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2015-2016 Genesis, 2017-2019 Genesis G80, Genesis G90, and 2019 Genesis G70 vehicles. Water may enter the starter solenoid and cause an electrical short, which can result in an engine compartment fire while parked or driving.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: An engine compartment fire while parked or driving can increase the risk of injury.
Remedy: Owners are advised to park outside and away from structures until the recall repair is complete. Dealers will install a remedy relay kit in the engine junction box, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 15, 2024. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460. Hyundai's numbers for this recall are 254(H) and 018G(G).

Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2015-2016 Genesis and 2017-2020 Genesis G80 vehicles. The Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) module could malfunction and short circuit.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: An electrical short circuit inside the ABS module could cause an engine compartment fire while parked or driving.
Remedy: Owners are advised to park outside and away from structures until the remedy is complete. Hyundai will notify owners, and dealers will replace the ABS module fuse, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 6, 2021. Owners can contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460. Hyundai's numbers for this recall are 201 and 006G.

Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2015-2016 Sonata and Genesis vehicles. In the affected vehicles, the warning light to indicate that the parking brake is applied may intermittently not illuminate in the dash due to corrosion in the switch.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: If the parking brake indicator is not illuminated when the parking brake is applied, the driver may operate the vehicle with the parking brake partially engaged, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Hyundai will notify owners, and dealers will replace the parking brake switch, free of charge. The recall began on August 4, 2017. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-671-3059. Hyundai's number for this recall is 164.

Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain model year 2015 Genesis sedans manufactured February 1, 2015, through May 20, 2015. The affected vehicles are equipped with a seven-inch TFT-LCD instrument cluster that may display an incorrect vehicle speed or may illuminate all of the warning lights or not illuminate a warning light that needs to be lit.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: If the instrument cluster displays the vehicle speed or illuminates the warning lights incorrectly there would be an increased risk of a crash.
Remedy: Hyundai will notify owners, and dealers will update the instrument cluster software, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin on September 30, 2016. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-800-633-5151. Hyundai's number for this recall is 147.

The affected tires may develop cracks in the tire sidewall, resulting in a loss of air.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: Tire sidewall cracks could cause a rupture during use, resulting in a rapid air loss and loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.

The Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) has received eight Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) and eight Kia America, Inc. (Kia) Part 573 Recall Reports between 2016 and 2023. The combined 16 safety recalls all involve the antilock braking system (ABS) modules or Hydraulic Electronic Control Units (HECU) manufactured by the equipment supplier Mando. The Part 573 Recall Reports contain varying defect descriptions and differing remedy descriptions for the same or similar equipment supplied by Mando. Safety recalls included in this Audit Query (AQ) review include: Hyundai recalls 20V-520, 20V-543, 21V-161, 21V-160, 21V-303, 22V-056, 22V-810, and 23V-651. Kia recalls 16V-815, 20V-518, 20V-519, 21V-137, 21V-331, 22V-051, 22V-800, and 23V-652 The purpose of this AQ is to evaluate the timeliness and scoping of Hyundai and Kia’s defect decision making and adherence with reporting requirements; and understand the varying defect descriptions and remedies between these recalls.
