IT HAPPENS 75% OF THE TIME UNTIL THE ENGINE IS COMPLETELY WARMED UP. EVEN THEN, IT HAPPENS 25% OF THE TIME.

VEHICLE ENGINE STALLS INTERMITTENTLY AT LOW SPEEDS DURING GEAR SHIFTS. THIS HAS OCCURRED APPROXIMATELY 6 TIMES, WITH 2 INCIDENTS PLACING ME IN A DANGEROUS SITUATION (I.E. KTM North America, Inc. (KTM) is recalling certain model year 2013-2014 Husqvarna TR650 Terra and TR650 Strada motorcycles manufactured January 1, 2012, to December 31, 2013. The affected motorcycles may unexpectedly stall.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: A stall increases the risk of a crash.
Remedy: The remedy for this recall is still under development. KTM issued an interim notification to owners on August 16, 2016. The recall began April 2017. Owners may contact KTM customer service at 1-440-985-3553.

This Preliminary Evaluation (PE) was opened on February 25, 2016 after ODI received 20 complaints alleging MY 2013-14 Husqvarna TR650 motorcycles were stalling while underway.Four of the complaints alleged low speed crashes occurred as a result.Following the opening of this investigation, and discussions with Husqvarna, the company decided to conduct a safety-related recall addressing the stalling problem and has filed a part 573 defect information report (DIR) on March 1, 2016.At the time the company was still searching for an effective remedy.
