When driving bike it randomly looses throttle control. Generally while cruising in 5-6 gear on a highway. The bike remains running, but all ability to use the throttle is gone. When driving bike it randomly looses throttle control. Generally while cruising in 5-6 gear on a highway. The bike remains running, but all ability to use the throttle is gone. Happens almost every ride. Extremely dangerous when it happens on a freeway or highway. Contacted Husqvarna and they referred me back to my local dealer, local dealer does not know how to fix this problem. In my online searches this is a very common problem. Please help!

Vehicle Speed Control

TC (throttle control) died during ride in 5th gear at 50 mph. No triggering factors. TC works after engine restart. Check engine light is now on.

KTM North America, Inc. is recalling certain 2022-2023 Husqvarna Svartpilen 401, Husqvarna Vitpilen 401, and 2022-2024 KTM 390 Adventure motorcycles. Water could enter the throttle (e-throttle) control unit and cause it to fail, resulting in loss of drive power.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: Loss of drive power while riding increases the risk of a crash or injury.

Remedy: KTM and Husqvarna dealers will inspect and replace the e-throttle control, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 30, 2026. Owners may contact KTM customer service at 1-888-985-6090. KTM's number for this recall is KTB2606 and HTB2603. The VINs involved in this recall became searchable on March 31, 2026.
