TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 HONDA VT750C. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 TO 35 MPH AND DEPRESSING THE REAR BRAKES, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT STOP. THE DRIVER HAD TO MANUALLY PULL THE LEVER FOR THE FRONT BRAKES IN ORDER TO STOP. AFTER INSPECTING THE VEHICLE, HE NOTICED THAT THE MASTER CYLINDER WAS FRACTURED AN…

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 HONDA VT750C. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 TO 35 MPH AND DEPRESSING THE REAR BRAKES, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT STOP. THE DRIVER HAD TO MANUALLY PULL THE LEVER FOR THE FRONT BRAKES IN ORDER TO STOP. AFTER INSPECTING THE VEHICLE, HE NOTICED THAT THE MASTER CYLINDER WAS FRACTURED AND HAD CAUSED THE REAR BRAKES TO FAIL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND THEY OFFERED TO SEND THE CONTACT A NEW PART FOR THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 8,000.

05V562000 · Exterior Lighting:headlights:switch

ON CERTAIN MOTORCYCLES, A DAMAGED CONNECTOR IN THE HANDLEBAR MOUNTED HEADLIGHT SWITCH MAY CAUSE THE HEADLIGHT TO FLICKER AND EVENTUALLY FAIL.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: IF RIDING AT NIGHT, THE SUDDEN LOSS OF HEADLIGHTS COULD RESULT IN A CRASH.

Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSTALL NEW LEFT AND RIGHT HANDLE SWITCH ASSEMBLIES WITH UNDAMAGED CONNECTORS FREE OF CHARGE. AN INTERIM LETTER TO OWNERS WAS MAILED ON DECEMBER 13, 2005. THE RECALL BEGAN ON DECEMBER 15, 2005. OWNERS MAY CONTACT HONDA AT 1-866-784-1870.
