BOUGHT THE SHADOW AND NOTICED THE PETCOCK WAS LEAKING WHEN TURNED ON. I BOUGHT A FACTORY PETCOCK FROM HONDA AND INSTALLED IT. NOW NOT A FEW MONTHS LATER THE EXACT SAME THING. IT IS A FAULTY DIAPHRAGM THAT CAUSES GAS TO LEAK ONTO A HOT ENGINE BLOCK. IT NEEDS TO BE RECALLED AND SET RIGHT BY THE DEALERS. THIS IS A SERIOUS ISSUE. 1-…

THIS IS A SERIOUS ISSUE. 1- IT'S LEAKING GAS, THAT'S A PRETTY PENNY NOWADAYS, 2- IT'S AN ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARD IF GAS IS LEAKING ALL OVER THE GROUND,3- IT'S A FIRE HAZARD FOR THE RIDER AND PEOPLE AROUND SHOULD THE BIKE DECIDE TO COMBUST, 4- IT IS NOT A RARE PROBLEM LOOK AT ANY 2004 AND UP SAME PROBLEMS, 5- THE DEALERS ARE SELLING THE SAME FAULTY PARTS, ALL IN ALL THERE IS NO FIX. 05V562000 · Exterior Lighting:headlights:switch

ON CERTAIN MOTORCYCLES, A DAMAGED CONNECTOR IN THE HANDLEBAR MOUNTED HEADLIGHT SWITCH MAY CAUSE THE HEADLIGHT TO FLICKER AND EVENTUALLY FAIL.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: IF RIDING AT NIGHT, THE SUDDEN LOSS OF HEADLIGHTS COULD RESULT IN A CRASH.

Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSTALL NEW LEFT AND RIGHT HANDLE SWITCH ASSEMBLIES WITH UNDAMAGED CONNECTORS FREE OF CHARGE. AN INTERIM LETTER TO OWNERS WAS MAILED ON DECEMBER 13, 2005. THE RECALL BEGAN ON DECEMBER 15, 2005. OWNERS MAY CONTACT HONDA AT 1-866-784-1870.
