I have had a Supplement Restraint Problem light on since I bought they vehicle. It was on and off intermittently for the past year or so, however now it will not go off. Upon inspection the wiring is damaged and there is not cover to the ground according to the honda mechanic that looked at my vehicle. I have not had any service work done in the area where the SRS box is located and they did not perform any further inspection on the system. Again, this was on when I bought my 2024 honda HR-V. The dealer was made aware and they advised me that it should be covered under warranty however nobody will fix the issue at this time. Please review and look into this issue as it has been noted in prior service bulletins for the SRS system light to have issues.

I am filing a safety complaint regarding my 2024 Honda HR-V Sport (VIN: [XXX] , mileage: 45,000). The driver’s seat lowers unexpectedly while driving. This happens without warning and creates a serious safety hazard, especially when operating the vehicle on highways. I commute daily in New Jersey (Elizabeth to Union City, approx. 40 minutes on highways), and this defect places me and other drivers at risk. Despite multiple visits to Honda of Route 22 and Honda Service Center (Hillside, NJ), Honda has refused to repair or replace the defective seat under warranty. A technician even admitted this is a known issue with this model. Honda has denied coverage and left me driving a dangerous vehicle. This unresolved defect is a direct safety concern and I request NHTSA / NJDCA intervention to investigate and compel Honda to act. Case reference with Honda: #[XXX] (filed September 12, 2025). Sincerely, [XXX] Phone: [XXX] Email: [XXX] Address: Elizabeth, NJ 07201 INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The contact owns a 2024 Honda HR-V. The contact stated while her daughter was driving 30 MPH, the driver attempted to switch lanes to prevent another vehicle from crashing into her vehicle. The contact stated that the steering wheel seized inadvertently, causing the vehicle to drive off the road. The vehicle hit the sidewalk and drove into the ditch, where the vehicle hit a small hill. The air bags did not deploy. The driver hit her head against the steering wheel and sustained neck and head pain. The contact stated that the front driver's side seat belt failed to retract and restrain her daughter; however, the front passenger's side seat belt retracted even though the seat was unoccupied. Additionally, the rear driver's side and passenger's side seat belts had extended abnormally. The vehicle automatically dialed 911, and police officers arrived at the scene. A police report was filed. The contact's daughter was able to exit the vehicle and did not seek medical assistance. The vehicle was towed to Tipton Motor Sales, LLC(3840 North Expy, Brownsville, TX 78526), where the front bumper, all the seat belts, the front driver's side tire, and unknown suspension parts were replaced due to the damage the vehicle had sustained during the incident. The contact became aware that the VIN was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V744000(Steering), which the contact related to the failure; however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the insurance company would need to hire an investigator to determine the cause of the accident because the local dealer was not capable of doing so. The failure mileage was approximately 4,441.

[XXX] When I purchased this vehicle it had four miles on it and had just been also purchased on the 5 it appears from Mexico and brought here to Honda South in morrow ga . No information was told to me about the recall nor was it on or disclosed to me . Next day I download the apps for my car to use and immediately I was stopped with alerts for open unrepaired recalls . When the dealership was confronted they said the manager wasn’t there to come back Tuesday . I seen where this is not only a recall but a stop sell and a non compliance ordered . Until repair or replacement inspections have been done . Now once the repair would have been made the system then would have been cleared of it . But obviously they purchased it from the import regardless of the letter sent out by NHTSA on [XXX] To Mr. Blank with Hondas campaign manager [XXX] . Honda south completely dismissed the importance of safety in disregards to the public safety and the warnings put in place . They then gave me a service dept. Receipt as if I came in for it not as a new customer falsely claiming and stating they received deductible in cash for an inspection. It stated it passed and no repair needed . They never did any of this but instead used it to clear the recall as if I was a previous owner receiving a notice . Then knowing it hadn’t been checked I went to another dealership to see if I could get the inspection and they said that in the system it showed I didn’t it yesterday and also had repairs and part numbers billed to the warranty company. I have everything that shows the deceptive actions I would love to see them prove in camera of all the fraudulent claims and proof they worked on it . They used and falsified government documents and records leaving inaccurate data and jeopardizing my and everyone else’s safety . You don’t know it’s bad til an actually accident happens it’s too late . Now they screwed my loan abusive forces of power . Please help take action INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.

RQ24006 · Front Seat Belt Assemblies May Be Missing The Rivet That Secures The Quick Connector And Wire Plate
On April 4, 2024, the Office of Defects Investigations (ODI) opened RQ24006 to investigate American Honda Motor Co.’s (Honda’s) proposed remedy for recall 23V-782 as well as scope of the vehicles involved. Honda issued recall 23V-782 on November 21, 2023, which concerns certain model year (MY) 2023-2024 Honda Accord, Honda Accord Hybrid, and Honda HR-V vehicles. Recall 23V-782 states that the driver and front passenger seat belt pretensioner assemblies may have been manufactured without a rivet that secures the pretensioner quick connector and wire plate. Recall documentation states that seat belt pretensioner assemblies that are missing the rivet will not properly restrain the occupant in the event of a collision, increasing the risk of injury.Subject defective seat belt assemblies are installed as original equipment for both the driver and front passenger positions for the HR-V, but only for the driver position for the Accord and Accord Hybrid. The recall remedy for 23V-782 instructs the technician to inspect both front seat belt pretensioner assemblies and, if necessary, replace them. The inspection procedure requires the technician to utilize a pull force gauge to determine whether the subject component is missing the subject rivet and requires replacement. Parts requiring replacement are determined by whether the pretensioner quick connector separates from the pretensioner assembly while the technician is pulling on the seat belt. If no separation occurs, then the part is determined to be not defective and not require replacement. There have been no reports alleging a failure of seat belt pretensioner assemblies after the inspect and replace remedy for recall 23V-782 was performed. Additionally, no comparable failures have been observed in field data for similar vehicles outside of the scope of the recall. As of the 4th quarter of 2024, the recall completion rate is at approximately 84% of the total recalled population. In view of the lack of failures after the remedy for recall 23V-782 was performed, and the lack of failures in similar vehicles outside of the scope of the recall, ODI is closing this Recall Query (RQ). The Agency reserves the right to take additional action if warranted by future circumstances.
