all the lights for the honda sensing systems (LKS, ACC, road departure, etc) are on periodically with notifications that they were not working. There is nothing wrong with the battery or anything else. They are gonna charge me 1,500$ to get this fixed when it’s their equipment that’s at fault.

*Multi-use camera for safety fails Honda HRV 2019 due to overheating and or other malfunctioning reasons. Known failure, but Honda refuses to recall the cameras. Causes lights on light up LKAS, Collision Mitigation, Road Departure, Adaptive Cruise, Auto High-Beam. (Of course battery checked first, but battery in good condition) Firestone and Christian Automotive Brothers diagnosed nothing wrong with car apart from camera. Honda refuses to accept 3rd party diagnostic report. Honda refuses to inspect known defect without price gouging customer upwards of $2K. Right Honda of Scottsdale AZ refuses to reset/recalibrate and insists on all customers with this known issue pay $200 diagnostic PLUS new part $1,232.15 + tax (part 36160-T7A-A04) PLUS labor in excess of $1,000. No warning, etc prior to the lights going on associated with defective camera. This is unethical car sales, price gouging for defective safety feature, and puts driver and others at risk. This is a safety feature of the car and Honda's respsonbility to recall and resolve at no expense to customers. Please formally open an investigation to inform me swiftly if this $2K + malfunctioning safety feature will be recalled and resolved. Thank you. The paint on the roof of my Honda HR-V is chipping and peeling. The problem appeared suddenly and has continued to spread. The rest of the vehicle’s paint remains intact, so this seems to be a defect in the roof paint or clear coat. While it does not trigger warning lights, the exposed areas put the vehicle at risk of rust and corrosion, which may affect safety and durability over time. The damage is visible and the roof is available for inspection upon request.

2019 HONDA HRV paint began to come off the car at 3 years old. Now the car is 5 years old and the area of concern is growing. The paint is pealing off down to the base of the car structure. This is a safety issue because when it begins to rust, the car parts will fall off. The area around with windshield is pealing decreasing the structural soundness of the car. When it rusts the windshield will not be held in place. Honda USA: Anthony at 800-999-1009. EX: 88024 was contacted and reported that even thought this same make and model car was recalled in 2016-2018 they will not fix the defect they knowingly manufactured. I have had the car inspected by Fisher Honda Colission Center in Boulder, Colorado. They said it is the same paint issue they saw on the cars in 2016-2018. Where Honda did recall the vehicles.

The Multipurpose camera that controls all advanced driver assistance fuctions malfunctions causing these systems to intermittenently not work properly or at all. It has caused the vehicle to fail to brake, and brake on its own without cause. Upon doing my own research I found numerous reports online of other owners of this make/model having the same issue. The problem first occured when my vehicle reached about 50,000 miles. It has been ongoing since. It caused damage to my vehicle when the automatic collision assist failed to brake for a vehicle that stopped abruptly in front of me. The alerts that these systems are not working do not always show up when the vehicle starts. Sometimes they stop working in the middle of the route. I have been in correspondence with the dealership who informed me the cost to fix this issue is $1968 (this does not include the $150 diagnostic fee while the vehicle was being serviced for a recall related to the fuel pump - I already paid to the dealer that fee and for which I've attached my receipt.) There is clearly some issue with the part that was installed by the manufacturer. It makes the vehicle unsafe to drive not knowing if these systems will fail or malfunction at any given moment. I do not feel as the customer this should be my responsibility to have repaired, as many others report the same issue with this part. There is clearly a widespread issue that needs to be addressed in a recall in order to replace the faulty part.

PE22011 · Rear Differential Seizure

Status: closed (inferred from source dates) · Power Train; Power Train:axle Assembly; Power Train:axle Assembly:axle Shaft; Power Train:axle Assembly:axle Shaft:seal; Power Train:driveline:differential Unit; Power Train:driveline:driveshaft

On November 29, 2022, the Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) opened PE 22-011 after reviewing field reports alleging rear differential seizure in 2018-2022MY Honda CR-V and HR-V vehicles equipped with all wheel drive. To date, ODI has not received any consumer complaints. Some of the field reports received alleged the vehicle’s wheels locked up with no warning while the vehicle was in motion. These vehicles were towed to a dealership. Examination of these vehicles showed the driveshaft had broken and the differential unit was completely damaged. The field reports cited a lack of oil due to damaged oil seals as the cause. Honda provided data including consumer complaints, field reports, and warranty claims they received relating to the loss of oil retention and resulting differential damage. Honda’s data cited 1201 incidents with unique vehicle identification numbers (VINs). The rear differential oil seals  prevent the oil from leaking out and protect internal components from contaminants. A loss of oil lubrication results in failure of the vehicle differential.  Honda stated that the oil seal’s lip contact with the driveshaft may become unstable due to intermittent changes in internal pressure. Their review of field report and warranty data indicated that these failures occurred early in the vehicle’s life thus the failures were covered by the manufacturer’s warranty. Honda stated that in November 2021 they changed the seal specifications and improved the packaging process of the parts for transport.  Honda also enacted an enhanced visual inspection process both before and after the oil seal installation on the assembly line. Honda stated that in the event of differential failure, the operator can control the vehicle without stability loss. After the drive shafts break due to differential failure, the operator will hear noises and the vehicle will still function as a 2WD vehicle preventing complete loss of motive power. Based on the following factors, ODI is closing this investigation: ·       Information regarding field failures does not indicate hazardous outcomes ·       The failures are occurring early in the life of the vehicle ·       Repairs are covered under the manufacturer’s warranty ·       The vehicle can continue functioning as a 2WD without loss of stability control in the event of failure The closing of this investigation does not constitute a finding by NHTSA that a safety-related defect does not exist, and the agency reserves the right to take additional action if warranted by new circumstances.
