The odometer gauge (shows mileage and fuel level) intermittently goes blank. Based on the Honda HRV forum, it seems to be a frequent problem. I took it to the dealer, and they said the part needs to be replaced, at a cost of ~$2000. Started a few months ago and seems worse when weather is cold.

Water started leaking into my car through the dome light and near the driver's side floor area. This caused my body control module to flood and fail, affecting my entire electrical system. There is nothing in the owner's manual, maintenance schedule in the owner's information packet, or as part of the multipoint inspection indicating that the drains near the sunroof needed to be blown out. In contacting Honda, I was told that it is my responsibility to "keep my car clean." They refuse to take any responsibility for the issue even though there are numerous complaints about this online. The water coming in on the driver's side floor began late in May, 2024 and the water leaking through the dome light, affecting the failure in the electrical system occurred on June 22, 2024.
I was driving it, it went into a limp mode. I could not accelerate. My dash light up flashing all different warning signs. Then put me at a complete stop and in permanent park with 6 or 7 dash lights on for my breaking system. When I was able to get it serviced they found I had complete transmission failure.
The third display on dashboard (MPG, time, odometer, gasoline gauge) turns on and off. It displays gibberish and flickers. I don't believe it is related to cold weather because it happens on warm days.
My odometer goes blank whenever it is a little cold and/or rainy. I never know how fast I am going when this happens. I could be speeding and not know it and get into a horrible accident.

My name is [XXX] - currently own Honda HRV. The Honda HRV was purchased late 2017. Recently after service recall by Honda my car was repaired for service recall by Honda Dealer dealer - 2 days after rain the front passenger floor area next to driver was flooded With water - I immediately took car back to dealer and told them to look at what was wrong as we never had this problem earlier- the service manager told me that there will be charges to even look at it - which I refused to pay as the car I handed before service recall never had this issue. Now with the rains the passenger area next to driver gets flooded every time and after calling Honda they have not responded so far other than informing that they will look up in to it and call me - this has been frustrating experience as it is raining every day for last few days - so please help ASAP. Also checked on internet as one of my friends who has repair garage told me that had similar issue, so inspite of the fact that several of Honda cars have similar problem and it is all over internet ; how come Honda is not aware of this manufacturing defect. This is an serious issue if water remains inside the car will have mold and the car will not be usable - please inform what should a customer do the car is only 3 to 4 years old with just 33,000 miles on it. Honda issued a case number [XXX]. INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
