The TFT Touchscreen has failed multiple time. Sometimes it blackouts so I cannot see what speed I am going or my tachometer. Recently it stopped responding to my touch input. The TFT Touchscreen has failed multiple time. Sometimes it blackouts so I cannot see what speed I am going or my tachometer. Recently it stopped responding to my touch input. This is an issue worldwide with any Honda Africa Twin 202X - to present. If it has a TFT screen they have this issue. There are forums upon forums about this exact issue, we are all waiting patiently for Honda to announce a recall. I am out of warranty so it would cost me upwards of 3K USD to fix this issue which is 100% a manufacturer defect from factory.

Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2020-2021 CRF1100 Africa Twin motorcycles equipped with a dual-clutch transmission (DCT). A software error in the engine control unit (ECU), may disconnect the controller area network (CAN) communication and release the clutch, which can result in an engine stall or a loss of drive power.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: An engine stall or a loss of drive power can increase the risk of a crash or injury.

Remedy: Dealers will update the ECU software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed October 6, 2022. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-866-784-1870. Honda's number for this recall is KNB.
