The progressive failure of the factory steering wheel adhesive on my 2025 GMC Yukon creates an immediate, active safety hazard during vehicle operation. The material failure and sticky glue are localized directly around the integrated heating element of the steering wheel. This failure severely impacts driving maneuvers as well as a potential electrical fire hazard. The liquefied glue residue is incredibly sticky and continually transfers to the driver’s hands, resulting in a compromised, slippery grip on the steering wheel. During active driving maneuvers, such as hand-over-hand turning, navigating sharp curves, the loose edges of the peeling leather and separating trim physically catch on the driver's palms. This restricts smooth wheel rotation, disrupts natural hand movement, and threatens a sudden, temporary loss of steering control. This manufacturing defect introduces severe driver distraction and physical interference with critical steering components while driving, compounded by a potential thermal or electrical defect in the steering wheel heating assembly.

GM performed a vehicle wide Over the Air reprogramming of the modules incorporated in the VIP/Global B electronics platform in April, 2026. Following that my vehicle became totally dead. Key fob would not unlock the vehicle. Had to use the metal key, open the drivers door. Opened the door, nothing moved. No lights, no movement from anything on the vehicle. Opened the hood, charged the battery and tried to crank it. Would not budge. Starter would not engage. Disconnected the negative battery cable. Tried again. Still would not budge. After an hour of so of trying and using jumper cables from our other vehicle, still would not budge. I disconnected the negative battery cable from the right front fender ground and reattached it. It then cranked. Drove the vehicle 30 miles at interstate speed. 8 miles in city traffic. Drove home and parked it in the garage. Drove it abput 10-12 days later to get breakfast. Parked it, locked it with the key fob. Came back after getting food, key fob would not work. Opened it with the button on the door handle. Got In tried to crank it. Would not budge. Disconnected the negative battery cable twice, before it cranked, but would not drive. Message in dash said vehicle could not be driven. Finally got it cranked. GM never advised that the battery must have a 70% charge at all times for the electronics to work. Owner's manual contains no such statement. Vehicle is defective to the extent that it will leave me stranded in wherever the battery power is less than 70%. Dangerous to get stranded at night on a lonely road or highway, away from cities with tow trucks and competent service personnel. Vehicle in shop 32 days before dealer advised resolution. Modules bricked requiring engine control module and telematics module replacement.

2025 Yukon Denali - Purchased in July of 2025 Specifically to pull air stream trailer. Vehicle Was equipped with necessary tow package for this purpose! #1 problem: Went into limp mode, stopped in traffic, towed to dealer. One week to repair and replace fuel system. ( under 700 Miles ) #2 Problem: Went into limp mode while pulling trailer, vehicle lost all the transmission fluid on ground. In shop sixteen days waiting for new transmission parts. ( Under 700 Miles ) #3 Problem: Vehicle stopped in traffic, towed to dealer where it was determined it needed new engine. In shop Nov 27, 2025, still in shop as of Jan 14, 2026. No ETA on engine or delivery. ( Under 2000 Miles ) #4 Problem: During last failure attempt to use "on star" failed, still not resolved. This vehicle is a danger to the owner and its passengers as well as others when it simply stops working in the middle of a busy highway with a 23' trailer in tow. Not to mention I have $160,000 invested in a car and camper I have yet to be able to use.

I'm reaching out because I've encountered a really concerning issue with my 2025 GMC Yukon AT4 Ultimate. There's a really loud popping noise randomly coming from the speakers that's honestly quite startling and dangerous while driving. Most recently, it scared me so much that I swerved off the road and nearly crashed. If you review online forums, you will find that this has been experienced by other owners as well. I've tried to resolve this through your usual service channels, but my concerns have been dismissed without any recommended action to ensure my family's safety. After scheduling with my local GMC dealership they couldn't replicate the noise and sent me on my way. I also brought it up with GMC Customer Care, and they suggested I try to record the sound, or keep bringing it in for service if it happens again. The problem is if I tell them it keeps happening again, what good will it do? It's a loud pop coming from the back speaker area. Even if they had 7 technicians hearing it at the same time, how will that make a difference. I need them to start testing components and replacing them one by one until its resolved.

Driving through the intersection of N. Scottsdale Road and E. Bell Road in Scottsdale AZ my collision warning red light flashed on the screen and the engine turned off. This caused me to lose forward propulsion and forced me to navigate to the side of the road to avoid being hit by another car. At Van’s GMC, the service manager told me that we experienced a catastrophic engine failure and that the engine seized. Vehicle has been inspected, but I have not received an official diagnostic even though I have requested. There were no warnings or indications that the vehicle was compromised prior to the engine turning off.

The wireless charging pad in the vehicle below the climate control system. Yes, it is. The charging component malfunctioned and overheated the back of my phone when it was set in the console while driving. I had no intention of charging my phone, but instead place my phone down while driving. When I picked up my phone at a stop light, I laid it in my inner thigh when the light changed. The burning was so intense and unexpected I swerved into oncoming traffic and lost control, momentarily of the vehicle. I have recreated the incident in a controlled environment myself and the issue is still active. I am happy to have the issue confirmed independently. I gave notice to the dealership after it happened with no concern or further investigation. No, the vehicle has not. No, no warning at all. In fact this is my 3rd GMC Yukon since 2016 and all 3 have had the wireless charging pad, I have had the same phone as my last one. I never had an issue or experienced anything like this.

My vehicle, with only 2,400 miles on the odometer, has been diagnosed as requiring a full engine replacement. While driving on the interstate, a warning message appeared indicating reduced acceleration. I was able to exit the freeway safely, but the vehicle could no longer maintain adequate speed to match traffic flow. Prior to this, the check engine light came on, but no issues were reported in the vehicle’s status system. I contacted OnStar, and they advised me to take the vehicle to a dealership within seven business days. It has since been at the dealership awaiting parts. Upon further research, I discovered that this issue appears to be widespread. General Motors has issued a technical bulletin addressing the problem, which involves complete engine replacement. Additionally, the audio system intermittently emits a loud crashing noise that is startling and potentially dangerous—it has caused me to veer off the road due to its intensity. This issue also seems to affect other 2025–2026 Yukon and Tahoe models.

The digital instrument cluster blacks out randomly at times going down the highway. This is a safety concern because you can't see how fast you are going. The problem has been inspected by and confirmed by a dealer service center. The failure began without warning and seemed to occur after the car went through a GM software update. The service manager for the GMC dealership said this is likely a bug that GM will have to solve through future updates. The car's electronic system was reset but the problem persists.

General Motors, LLC is recalling certain 2025–2026 Cadillac Escalade, Escalade ESV, Chevrolet Suburban 1500, Tahoe, GMC Yukon, and Yukon XL vehicles with 24-inch wheels. Incorrect bolts may have been installed on the left and right front wheel hubs, which can result in the bolts loosening or deforming over time.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: A bolt that loosens or breaks during vehicle operation can result in loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will replace the front left and right wheel hub bolts, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 18, 2026. Owners may contact GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782, Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020 or Cadillac customer service at 1-800-333-4223. GM's number for this recall is N262554630. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall became searchable on NHTSA.gov on May 14, 2026.

Rollx Vans (Rollx) is recalling certain GMC Yukon, Sierra, Chevrolet Express 2500, Ford Transit, E-250, Toyota Sienna, Sienna Hybrid, Honda Odyssey, Chrysler Town and Country, Voyager, Pacifica, Dodge Grand Caravan, and Ram Promaster vehicles equipped with QRT-Deluxe and QRT-Max wheelchair restraints. Please refer to Rollx's recall report for specific model year information. The retractors may not lock, preventing the wheelchair from being properly secured.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: An unsecured wheelchair can move during transit, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy: Rollx will work with Q'Straint to inspect and replace the retractors as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed February 5, 2026. Owners may contact Rollx's customer service at 1-800-956-6668.

EA26005 · Loss Of Motive Power Due To Engine Failure Post Recall Remedy

On January 16, 2026, the Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) opened Recall Query RQ26001.  This investigation was opened to assess the remedy effectiveness of Recall 25V-274. ODI has received complaints alleging engine failure in vehicles after the recall remedy had been completed, whether that remedy involved an oil viscosity change or a complete engine replacement. General Motors (GM) issued Recall 25V-274 to address concerns of engine failure in the L87 engines produced between March 1, 2021 and May 31, 2024. GM cited the root cause as a supplier manufacturing and quality issue. GM’s recall remedy for Recall 25V-274 consisted of two different repairs, either an oil viscosity change or an engine replacement, based on the results of the remedy inspection procedure. ODI continues to receive reports of engine failures after the completion of the recall remedy. To date, ODI has received 499 complaints alleging post-remedy engine failure in vehicles subject to Recall 25V-274, 473 of which involved an oil viscosity change and 26 a complete engine replacement. Additionally, ODI has received 191 reports of L87 engine failures in engines produced after the production period cited in Recall 25V-274. GM reported receiving 6,953 complaints of post-remedy engine failure. ODI is opening this Engineering Analysisto continue investigating complaints of post-remedy engine failure. ODI is expanding the scope of this Investigation to include engines produced after the production period cited in the recall.
