This report documents two separate safety incidents involving the same vehicle that occurred on different dates. Approximately one month prior to the most recent incident, while driving my young children to school, the vehicle experienced a sudden and severe loss of braking effectiveness while in motion. I was unable to stop normally at stop signs and had to roll through and roll to a stop. I was required to press the brake pedal fully to the floor to slow the vehicle, and even then braking response was significantly reduced and not functioning as designed. The engine remained running and the vehicle could still accelerate. After stopping and restarting the vehicle, braking function temporarily returned. On a later date, while again transporting my children, the vehicle experienced a complete loss of power while driving. The vehicle abruptly shut down while in motion. I was unable to accelerate and experienced loss of power assisted braking. The vehicle only came to a stop after coasting. Following this shutdown, a burning or melted plastic odor was present. The vehicle was later towed and inspected by a dealership. The battery was replaced; however, this did not resolve the issue. After the battery replacement, the vehicle later hesitated to start again. The exact cause of these failures remains unknown. These incidents occurred without warning and represent serious safety critical failures involving braking and propulsion systems. Both incidents placed my children, myself, and other motorists at risk. Had either event occurred on a highway or heavily trafficked roadway, there would have been little to no ability to safely slow or stop the vehicle, creating a significant risk of collision or serious injury. Due to these events, I no longer feel safe operating this vehicle and have stopped driving it. The vehicle remains available for inspection.

While parked, my [XXX] daughter was in the third-row bench seat. The seat belt became wrapped around her body/neck area. The seat belt entered its 'Automatic Locking Retractor' (ALR) mode and continued to tighten as she moved, pinning her against the seat. The locking mechanism would not release, and the belt became so tight she was unable to breathe. We attempted to manually release the buckle and create slack, but the retractor remained locked and continued to tighten. After several minutes of unsuccessful attempts to free her, we had to use a cutting tool to sever the seat belt to save her life as she couldnt breath, she has brusing where the seat bealt was tighten. The vehicle was stationary in a parking lot at the time. The car has not being inspected , there was not warning. I have a 2024 GMC Denali that had an engine service appointment in September 2025 for the engine recall where they did an oil change & put in performance grade oil & scoped my engine. Rochester Serra GMC said they sent all the engine pictures to GM and my engine was okay according to them. After that appointment in November my engine light went on and my Denali was leaking oil in my driveway. We took the truck back to Serra GMC Rochester and they replaced the oil filter that they said was defective & an oil change was done after my husband requested that just filling up the oil was not okay. They also told us the engine light didn’t show up on their computer system and it must have cleared out, so nothing was done for that. Today 1/25/26 now about a month later my engine light is back on and has remained on with multiple starts. This is not acceptable and needs to be investigated and I want this escalated. I do not feel comfortable driving my truck with this engine light on with a known engine propulsion recall that has no actual cure. The oil replacement and cap change has done nothing and engine light remains on. I just don’t want to hear the same thing that the computer must have cleared the error code. My engine light is on for a reason and I’m asking for a thorough diagnostic test to be done by a certified technician and a get a valid explanation of why my engine light keeps going on & not just changing my oil or waiting for something catastrophic to happen to me or my family. GM is putting me and my family at risk by saying that my truck’s engine is fine when clearly the engine light keeps repeatedly going on for 3 months in a row now since November 17, 2025.

December 9, 2025 - turned on car and once again immediately noticed multiple system failures and very slow ability to brake. Failures were "Brake System Failure, 43 MPH Top Speed, Forward Collision System Unavailable, Service Brake Pad Monitor, Service ESC, Service Traction Control, Service Sterring Column Lock" Immediately took to dealership. Over the last 25 days in service all the dealership has told me is that their master technicians have looked it over and do not know the root cause. They are waiting for a new technician from GM. They also have another Yukon at the dealership with the same safety symptoms. No issues with the car prior to these two instances of failures. Car should not be driven.

I bought my truck on 10/29/25 on 12/04/25 haven’t even maid my first payment on the truck yet and my wife was on her way to work at 4 am when the engine shut off on its own and went in to neutral. She tried starting the truck again and it wouldn’t so she had to leave the truck abandoned in the middle of the road and walk to work in the cold and dark. We ended up getting the truck towed home a few hours later when there was a tow truck available. I work out of town so on 12/07/24 when I got back in town I started the truck up and everything seemed normal so I took it for a spin and right as I was getting on the highway it lost propulsion, engine shut off, and truck shifted on its own to neutral. I was almost rear ended by the truck behind me luckily I was able to get the truck out of the way in time. I had to sit and wait for 3 hours until a tow truck was able to tow the truck. This was on a Sunday so I could not get it dropped off at the dealership due to them being closed until the next day! Finally I got it towed to the dealer (all tow’s paid out of pocket as well)… 3 days later the dealer calls me back to let me know I’m getting a new engine not sure how long it will take, but they will get me a rental mean while and that’s all.
