WE PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND TRY REFIRING THE ENGINE. IT FEELS LIKE THE ENGINE IS ABOUT TO JUMP OUT FROM UNDER THE HOOD. WE TURN IT OFF AND WAIT ABOUT 5 MINUTES. START THE ENGINE BACK UP AFTER WAITING AND IT DRIVES OK, BUT ENGINE LIGHT IS ON. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO US TWICE IN TWO DAYS TIME.

ON A SNOW AND ICE COVERED HIGHWAY WITH HEAVY TRAFFIC WHILE TRAVELING AT 65 MPH, I SUDDENLY GOT A "REDUCING ENGINE POWER" MESSAGE ON THE DISPLAY FOLLOWED BY A "SERVICE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM" MESSAGE. AS MY VEHICLE QUICKLY LOST POWER, TO INCLUDE POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKES, I WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. AFTER GETTING TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND TURNING THE VEHICLE OFF THEN ON AGAIN, I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE ANOTHER 2 MILES; THEN THIS HAPPENED AGAIN AND AGAIN A THIRD TIME BEFORE GETTING TO THE DEALER. I HAVE READ REPORTS FROM OTHER GMC YUKON DRIVERS AS FAR BACK AS 2001 WHO HAVE REPORTED THIS EXACT SAME PROBLEM. UNFORTUNATELY, GMC HAS DONE NOTHING TO ADDRESS THIS SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE DESPITE CUSTOMER COMPLAINTS. UNADDRESSED THIS SAFETY ISSUE IS HIGHLY LIKELY TO CAUSE PERSONAL INJURY OR DEATH AS A RESULT OF A VEHICLE CRASH. A RECALL NEEDS TO BE INITIATED IMMEDIATELY! *TR
