The vehicle was towed to a local dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the fuel pump was inoperable and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that while his wife was driving 35 MPH, the contact received an email and text from OnStar with DTC: P129F, and the message to not drive the vehicle was displayed. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the fuel pump power control module had failed. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure reoccurred. The contact stated that the failure was related to N252516900, a General Motors (GM) emission recall related to the Fuel Pump Power Control Module (FPCM and GM safety recall N222372310 – Inadequate Fuel Pump Flow. The local dealer was contacted, who stated that the fuel pump had failed to meet higher outputs. The manufacturer was contacted and confirmed that there was no coverage on the vehicle. The failure mileage was approximately 66,000.

The contact's husband owns a 2022 GMC Terrain. The contact stated that while driving at 20 MPH, the vehicle shut off with the message "Press Brake Pedal to Start" displayed on the instrument panel. The contact attempted to restart the vehicle several times and added fuel to the fuel tank jug; however, the vehicle failed to restart. Due to the failure, the vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who diagnosed the vehicle with a defective fuel pump module. Upon investigation, the contact discovered NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V013000 (Fuel System, Gasoline); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. Neither the manufacturer nor the dealer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.

In addition, the contact referenced an unknown recall that had a similar failure description; however, the VIN was not associated with the recall. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure.
