2015 GMC Acadia

Not inspected by anyone else because they have no idea where to look because the light and actions happen on and off. Warning light and message appears. Service Traction Control and service Stabilink Light yes I will bring it in. It will turn on randomly at this point for about 4 months and the brakes are locking up the wheels while driving.

Complete loss of steering at low speeds. This has been an issue with GM for years, and is still not corrected on my 2015 GMC Acadia. At a stop light or when turning a corner, I could barely turn the steering wheel. GM needs to pay to have this fixed on all vehicles still affected. There is no way I could maneuver this vehicle to avoid a person or vehicle.

The contact drove the vehicle to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the power pump steering needed to be replaced as there were metal shavings found in the fluid. The vehicle was at the independent mechanic awaiting a power steering pump. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 43,000.

Airbags - I received a service notification that the airbags needed to be serviced. I was told by the dealership there weren’t any outstanding recalls on this vehicle. When I researched myself, I saw that in fact, there is an outstanding recall for the airbags. The dealership is trying to charge me for the repairs on an outstanding recall on this car. If I had not researched on my own, I would be out of pocket hundreds of dollars. I transport myself and children I. This vehicle that I thought was safe. This is concerning. Struts - According to the car fax provided at the time of sale, the struts were replaced at the dealership 3 months before purchasing the car. 2 months later the struts have failed and the dealership will not cover the cost of the repair. There was only a 1,000 mile difference from when the struts were repaired until the time I purchased the car.

My steering rack and pinion as well as my power steering pump have gone out completely potentially put me in harms way By impairing my ability to drive defensively. by greatly reducing the vehicles reaction time . A worn steering rack can cause you to lose partial or complete control over your car steering wheel, which can lead to fatal accident. That goes without saying that steering rack is a major car maintenance procedure and is expensive. When they perform defectively, it can spell trouble and make your steering faulty and unreliable—this is what happens when the rack and pinion goes out. And I believe it goes without saying that the power steering pump is just as an intricate part of your design as is the rack and pinion they go hand-in-hand, and the potentially damage each other. While driving my car I have noticed that my steering wheel shakes when I apply the brakes. Also when I turn the wheel the power steering makes a loud noise which is the steering rack box. Steering has gotten worse over time and noise has gotten louder. Praying me and my children do not get in an accident as I have no other vehicle to drive. Also the passenger airbag will randomly turn on and off.

ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO I STARTED TO NOTICE AN INCREASE IN DIFFICULTY WITH THE POWER STEERING ON MY 2015 GMC ACADIA. THE PROBLEM CONTINUED TO GET WORSE. MORE SPECIFICALLY, WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS MOVING SLOW SUCH AS TRYING TO PARK IT THE STEERING WHEEL WITH LOCK UP. I TOOK THE CAR TO MY LOCAL MECHANIC AND LEARNED THE POWER STEERING PUMP FAILED. I CALLED GMC WHO ADVISED THEY WERE AWARE OF SEVERAL REPORTS SIMILAR TO MINE BUT TOLD ME THE PUMP IS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY AND THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE COST TO REPLACE THE PUMP IS IN EXCESS OF $1,000

TOOK VEHICLE INTO A GMC DEALERSHIP FOR SERVICE AIR BAG ISSUE THAT WAS COVERED UNDER A SPECIAL GMC COVERAGE. DEALERSHIP FOUND AN ISSUE WITH THE POWER STEERING AND PUMP HAD TO BE REPLACED DUE TO MODERATE LEAK, MILEAGE 65366 ON 11/7/19. VEHICLE IS ONLY 4 YEARS OLD AND ALL MAINTENANCE COMPLETED ON TIME AT A GMC LEADERSHIP. EXTENDED WARRANTY ENDED IN SEPTEMBER 2019. THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING PROBLEM GMC ISSUE FOR YEARS ACCORDING TO COMPLAINTS ON THE INTERNET. THE POWER STEERING PUMP ON A 4 YEAR OLD CAR SHOULD NOT HAVE TO BE REPLACED. CALLED GMC CUSTOMER SERVICE NUMBER AND THEY CALLED THE DEALERSHIP TO GIVE ME A COST DISCOUNT. CASE NUMBER FROM GMC IS [XXX]. I HAD TO PAY ALMOST $900 ON AN ISSUE THAT GMC KNEW ABOUT. I WAS LUCKY THE ISSUES WAS IDENTIFIED AT THIS APPOINTMENT AND NOT WHEN DRIVING. GMC SHOULD HAVE A SPECIAL COVERAGE ON THIS ISSUE JUST LIKE THE SERVICE AIR BAG ISSUE.
