The contact owns a 2016 Ford Transit. The contact stated that while an employee was driving above 15 MPH, the vehicle was shaking abnormally with loud clanking sounds. The vehicle was inspected by an independent mechanic who determined that the driveshaft was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The local dealer and manufacturer were notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The contact was informed that the vehicle was previously serviced on three separate occasions which included under NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V767000 (Power Train), but the failure persisted. The failure mileage was 150,000.

driveshaft coupler failed Ford refuses to fix damaged parts from coupler failure. Received notice of safety recall 10-25-2023. Recall was issued 10-25-2019 but I was never notified of a recall. (recall notices are sent by mail) once recall notice was received 10-25-2023 I tried countless times to have recall done but parts were never available. Finally took to the dealer and had them place the part on order (backorder) to be filled when available on/or around 1-2024. Failure happened 4-18-2024 with the recall part still on backorder damaging all brake lines and fuel lines all at the same time. This part should have been available when the vehicle was taken to the dealership for repair in Jan. 2024 and fixed. Not until a Failure happens that could of cost the lives of X-people on a highway due to parts not being available for a Major recall like this one.

The contact owns a 2016 Ford Transit. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the rear end of the vehicle made an abnormal sound. The contact stated that the failure had been recurring increasingly. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with driveshaft failure. The dealer determined that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V767000 (Power Train) however, the VIN was not included. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer referred the contact to the manufacturer, who then referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 260,000.

The contact owns a 2016 Ford Transit. The contact had received a recall notification and the vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the flexible coupling was replaced as an interim repair under NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V767000 (Power Train). The contact stated while an employee was driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle lost motive power. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, where it was determined that the failure was related NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V767000 (Power Train). The contact stated that the mechanic attempted to order the part from the manufacturer, but the manufacturer informed the mechanic that only an authorized dealer could perform the repair. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the driveshaft assembly and other unknown parts had failed and needed to be replaced. The dealer sent a claim to the manufacturer for the repair; however, the manufacturer informed the dealer that they could not cover the repair of the vehicle because the flexible coupling was not replaced after another 40,000 miles, which resulted in the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 170,000.

The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, there was abnormal sound of a lose part underneath the vehicle near the front driver’s side seat and front passenger’s side seat. The dealer was contacted, and it was determined that the failure was related to a driveshaft failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was 120,000. Instrument panel turns off on and on during driving. No ability to see speed, acceleration, engine heat, fuel, or any lights at all (unable to see warning lights like engine light or airbag or tire pressure and not even able to use blinkers or high lights). Problem occurs during driving (will even turn off and on many times within same driving session) but will also happen while car is sitting just with ignition on. Took to dealer and they couldnt find the problem, told me to (and I quote) “continue driving until it gets worse” so they could find the problem later on. Romano Ford in Fayetteville NY told us to continue using the vehicle while the instrument panels contiously turns off and on, disregarding the safety issues of not being able to monitor anything while driving (speed, heat, fuel, warnings, blinkers or anything!). When we scanned the vehicle for DTCs it comes up as the instrument panel is losing connection to every single module in the vehicle, and they for some reason do not see this as dangerous.

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2015-2019 Lincoln MKC, Mustang, F-350 SD, F-250 SD, F-450 SD, 2015-2017 Lincoln Navigator, Expedition, 2015-2018 Edge, Transit Connect, 2016-2019 F-550 SD, Transit, 2017-2019 Econoline, and 2019 Ranger vehicles. The rearview camera may display a distorted, inverted, or blank image when the vehicle is in reverse.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: A rearview camera that displays an inverted, distorted, or blank image can reduce the driver’s view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the rearview camera as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 13, 2026. Ford owners will receive letters in phases, beginning January 2026 and June 2026. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 25S89. This recall expands previous NHTSA recall number 25V270. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning September 8, 2025.

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2015-2020 Transit vehicles. An incorrect driveshaft torsional damper service kit may have been installed, which can allow the damper shield to contact the parking brake cable, possibly resulting in parking brake failure.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: Parking brake failure can result in unintended vehicle movement, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will replace the passenger side parking brake cable with a cable that provides sufficient clearance to the damper shield, free of charge. Interim owner notification letters were mailed on September 24, 2021. Owner notification letters were mailed on March 14, 2022. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2015-2017 Transit vehicles. This recall includes all full-size Transit vehicles previously recalled under 17V-408 except ones that received mechanical universal joint (u-joint) as a remedy and any 156" or 178" wheelbase Chassis Cab and Cut-Away bodies models. The flexible coupling connecting the transmission to the driveshaft may prematurely fail.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: If the coupling fails, the vehicle will not be able to move under its own power and the disconnected driveshaft may impact and damage the brake and fuel lines. Additionally, the separated driveshaft may allow the vehicle to roll if the vehicle is exited when the transmission is in 'Park' but the parking brake is not applied. These scenarios may increase the risk of a crash or injury.
Remedy: Ford will notify owners, and as an interim repair, dealers will replace the flexible coupling every 40,000 miles until the final remedy is available. The final remedy will consist of installation of a driveshaft front section equipped with a mechanical u-joint in place of the flexible coupling. These repairs will be made free of charge. The wheelchair lift positioning input cam may fail while the lift is in use, allowing the platform to travel higher than the vehicle's floor height.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: If the wheelchair lift platform stops above the vehicle floor, the wheelchair user can tip inwards toward the vehicle when exiting the lift, increasing their risk of injury.
Remedy: Mobility Specialists, working with Ricon, has notified the owners. Ricon will provide instructions and materials for replacing defective parts. Owners may contact Ricon customer service at 1-800-322-2884.

The wheelchair lift positioning input cam may fail while the lift is in use, allowing the platform to travel higher than the vehicle's floor height. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 403, "Platform Lift Systems."
Consequence & remedy

Remedy: Ford will notify owners, and dealers will add a drainage hole in the driver's door stepwell and incorporate a fuse into the vehicle's wiring harness, free of charge. Consequence: If the coupling fails, the vehicle will not be able to move under its own power and the disconnected driveshaft may impact and damage the brake and fuel lines. Additionally, the separated driveshaft may allow the vehicle to roll if the vehicle is exited when the transmission is in 'Park' but the parking brake is not applied. These scenarios may increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Ford will notify owners, and as an interim repair, dealers will replace the flexible coupling on any vehicle with more than 30,000 miles. A final remedy repair of a redesigned flexible coupling or a revised driveshaft equipped with a universal joint is being developed and is expected in early 2018. These repairs will be made free of charge. Interim notifications informing owners of the safety risk were mailed July 21, 2017. Owners will receive a second notice when remedy parts become available. Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2015-2016 Transit vehicles manufactured February 13, 2014, to January 13, 2016 and equipped with rear passenger seats. The rear seat belt buckles may be damaged if a heavy object is placed on, or impacts, the top of the buckle. The damage may prevent the buckle from latching or from remaining latched.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: An unlatched seat belt increases the risk of injury to the occupant in the event of a crash.
