The contact owns a 2017 Ford Mustang. The contact stated that on four occasions while driving at various speeds, the driver's door swung open unintendedly. Additionally, the contact stated that when the vehicle was shifted into reverse, there was a blue screen displayed. The contact stated that the trunk would not open to allow the reverse camera to be repaired. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the diagnosis was unknown, and the mechanic stated that the trunk would not open to allow the reverse camera to be repaired. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact believed that the vehicle failure was associated with NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V082000 (Back Over Prevention). The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a complaint was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 140,000.

I have a 2017 Ford mustang eco-boost which has a faulty rear view camera. The camera glitches with distorted image with moving horizontal lines. For this exact same issue ford issued a manufacturer Recall Number22S06/22V082, but with a catch. In the recall report they mentioned that camera replacement will apply only for 2015 models. But this issue exists in 2017 models as well and ford need to consider to recall those as well.

The contact owns a 2017 Ford Mustang. The contact stated that while reversing, the rearview camera failed to activate or operate as needed. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V082000 (Back Over Prevention) and the vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the decklid wiring harness was replaced; however, the failure persisted. The dealer informed the contact that there would be a cost for the repair because the recall repair did not include replacing the rearview camera. The manufacturer's repair instructions stated that the dealers would inspect and repair the decklid wiring harness and/or replace the rearview camera as necessary, free of charge. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was opened; however, no further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was unknown. Parts distribution disconnect.

The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the wiring harness for the rear-view camera to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but continued to experience a failure. The contact took the vehicle back to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the rear-view camera to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V082000 (Back Over Prevention) however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 15,000.

This 2017 Ford Mustang was taken into Gillespie Ford for the RECALL on the rear back up camera. This was done on May 31, 2023. The dealer said they fixed the camera. I have only taken this vehicle out twice since they “fixed” it. Yesterday was extremely hot. When I used the backup camera in my garage after I got home, the camera image was distorted just as it was before the RECALL REPAIR. This problem with the camera has not been fixed properly and the dealer wants to charge me for any further repairs, even though it has not been fixed properly or FORD still has a severe issue with these cameras when they get hot. I would like someone to step up and make the dealer fix this as it was a RECALL. I believe I should NOT have to pay for another repair. They have not done this properly.

The contact owns a 2017 Ford Mustang. The contact stated that after he purchased the vehicle, he received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V082000 (Back Over Prevention). The vehicle was taken to the dealer for the recall repair however, the contact stated that a week after the vehicle was repaired; however, while shifted into reverse(R), a message appeared on the screen indicating that the camera failed to function properly. The contact stated that he depressed the “OK” button to clear the screen then the screen displayed white then became distorted. The dealer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the vehicle was inspected, and the wiring harness was replaced. The contact was also informed by the dealer that the recall was closed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was provided a case number but no further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2015-2017 Mustang vehicles. Water and road salt may corrode the front seat belt anchor pretensioner cables.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: A corroded cable can break, preventing the seat belt from properly restraining an occupant, and increasing the risk of injury during a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace both front seat belt anchor pretensioner assemblies, as necessary. In addition, dealers will remove sections of the carpet and underlayment that contact the cables. Dealers will also inspect the A-pillar sealing patches, and as necessary, install A-pillar body plugs, and/or inspect and replace the front outboard seat bolts. Repairs will be performed free of charge. Interim letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, were mailed October 20, 2025. Additional letters will be sent once the final remedy is available, anticipated December 2026. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 25S92. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall became searchable on NHTSA.gov September 17, 2025.

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2015-2019 Lincoln MKC, Mustang, F-350 SD, F-250 SD, F-450 SD, 2015-2017 Lincoln Navigator, Expedition, 2015-2018 Edge, Transit Connect, 2016-2019 F-550 SD, Transit, 2017-2019 Econoline, and 2019 Ranger vehicles. The rearview camera may display a distorted, inverted, or blank image when the vehicle is in reverse.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: A rearview camera that displays an inverted, distorted, or blank image can reduce the driver’s view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the rearview camera as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 13, 2026. Ford owners will receive letters in phases, beginning January 2026 and June 2026. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 25S89. This recall expands previous NHTSA recall number 25V270. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning September 8, 2025.

Consequence & remedy
Consequence: A rearview camera that displays a blank or distorted image can reduce the driver's rear view, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will inspect and repair the decklid wiring harness and/or replace the rearview camera, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 23, 2022 and June 26, 2023. Remedy parts are expected to become available in the 4th Quarter of 2022. Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2017 F-150 and Mustang vehicles. The air bag inflator within the passenger frontal air bag module may rupture in the event of a crash.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: An inflator rupture may result in metal fragments striking the vehicle occupants resulting in serious injury or death.
Remedy: Ford will notify owners, and dealers will replace the passenger frontal air bag module, free of charge. The recall began October 11, 2017. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 17S26.

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2017 Ford Mustang vehicles. The return spring for the driver side interior door handle may come loose, allowing the driver's door to unlatch in a side impact crash. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 206, "Door Locks and Door Retention Components."
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: If the door unlatches in a crash it can increase the risk of injury.
Remedy: Ford will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the driver-side interior door handle and repair the return spring, as necessary, free of charge. The recall began April 14, 2017. Owners may contact Ford at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for the recall is 17C04.

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2015-2017 Mustang vehicles manufactured February 24, 2015, to August 30, 2016. A hose may separate from the engine oil cooler tube assembly causing an oil leak.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: A sudden loss of engine oil may cause engine failure, increasing the risk of a crash. Additionally, an oil leak, in the presence of an ignition source, increases the risk of a fire.
Remedy: Ford will notify owners, and dealers will replace the engine oil cooler tube assembly, free of charge. The recall began on March 23, 2017. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 16S40.

From 2000 through 2017, Takata produced millions of air bag inflators using two types of phase-stabilized ammonium nitrate ("PSAN") propellant -- propellant 2004 and propellant 2004L. After prolonged exposure to high temperature cycles and humidity, inflators using propellant 2004 can degrade, causing the propellant to burn too quickly when ignited. The rapid burning can cause the inflator to rupture during deployment, potentially causing serious or even fatal injury to vehicle occupants.
