APARENTLY NO ONE CARES BECAUSE I HAVE GOT NO RESPONSE FROM THEM (SOMEONE COULD GET KILLED) BY THIS CHEAP DEFECTIVE PRODUCT ALSO ON LAST PURCHASE THE PART HAS BEEN MADE EVEN LESS COSTLY BY CHANGING THE OLD STYLE OF METAL TO PLASTIC. MY LETTER ASKED ABOUT WARRANTY OR REPLACEMENT AUTOZONE SAYS NO PIONEER HAS SOME FORM OF LIABILITY DONT THEY ? BUT THEY ARE NOT RESPONDING HOPE YOU CAN HELP. THE SECONDARY THROTTLE SHAFT MAY, WITH ACCUMULATED MILEAGE, BECOME CONTAMINATED AND MAY STICK IN A PARTIALLY OPEN POSITION WHILE DRIVING.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: CONSEQUENCE OF DEFECT: THIS STICKING COULD RESULT IN A FASTER SPEED THAN INTENDED, POSSIBLY RESUTLING IN AN ACCIDENT.

Remedy: THE PRIMARY TO SECONDARY THROTTLE CLOSURE LINK ON THE CARBURETOR WILL BE REPLACED FREE OF CHARGE.

SUMMARY OF INFORMATION FROM MANUFACTURER:INSTANCES WERE FOUND WHERESPRING LOCK COUPLINGS FAILED CAUSING GASOLINE TO BE RELEASED THROUGHOUTTHE ENGINE COMPARTMENT CAUSING FIRES.LEAKS FROM FUEL LINES MAY ALSO BE ACONTRIBUTING CAUSE TO THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT FIRES.---------------------------------------------------------------------------ANALYSIS:DATA INDICATES THAT THE ALLEGED PROBLEM MAY BE CAUSED BY THESPRING LOCK QUICK CONNECT COUPLINGS WHICH CONNECT THE FUEL SUPPLY ANDRETURN LINES TO THE ENGINE AS WELL AS FUEL LEAKAGE FROM THE FUEL LINES.---------------------------------------------------------------------------PROPOSED ACTION: UPGRADE THIS PE TO AN EA.(EA87-020)===
