HELLO, I WOULD LIKE TO REPORT A MAJOR SAFETY PROBLEM WITH THE 2012 F350 FORD SUPER DUTY TRUCKS WITH THE 6.7 POWER STROKE DIESEL MOTOR. WE WERE TRAVELING ON HIGHWAY 72 IN ATHENS, LIMESTONE COUNTY, ALABAMA. A MESSAGE CAME UP ON DISPLAY THAT SAID "STOP SAFELY NOW". BEFORE I COULD EVEN STOP THE TRUCK SHUT ITSELF OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY. THERE WE SAT, IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY WITH A TRUCK THAT WOULD NOT RUN. WE HAD TO GET OUT AND PUSH THE THING OUT OF THE ROAD. PLEASE REFER TO SAFETY RECALL NOTICE 13S10 / NHTSA RECALL 13V525. THIS RECALL DESCRIBES THE PROBLEM WE ARE HAVING, BUT THIS RECALL IS FOR AMBULANCES ONLY. WHY WOULD FORD ONLY RECALL AMBULANCES WHEN ALL OF THEIR 2012 F350 SUPER DUTY POWER STROKES MOTORS HAVE THIS SAME MAJOR SAFETY PROBLEM. OUR SAFETY WAS A RISK HERE AND I WANT SOME ANSWERS. THE TRUCK HAS A DEFECT THAT NEEDS TO BE CORRECTED, NOW BEFORE SOMEONE IS KILLED. I WOULD RATHER HAVE THE TRUCK MOTOR MELT DOWN AS TO BE STUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY. A CORRECTION HAVE BEEN MADE TO THE 2013 MODELS TO PREVENT THIS FROM HAPPENING WITH THOSE MODELS, BUT NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE TO CORRECT THIS ISSUE WITH OUR TRUCK.
