2021 Ford F-150 Hybrid

Ive noticed that the electric motor sometimes doesnt want to disengage quickly when I step on the brakes. In this incident I had to make a hard brake because someone pulled out in front of me. I had the cruise control on. When I slammed on the brakes the vehicle did not stop fast the vehicle felt as if it was still being pushed by something. Then a small jolt was felt and then the vehicle finally slowed. Had I been going faster or had the car that pulled been closer. This fault would have resulted in an incident

My truck is currently experiencing a Front Camera Fault that is resulting the pre-collision warning/assist, adaptive/normal cruise control, and lane keeping warning/assist from operating as designed. Upon dealer inspection on 7/11/24 it is noted that TSB 23-2146 was issued to correct the issue by replacing cables and ultimately the image control camera and module resulting in thousands of dollars in repair costs of a known issue by Ford.

(June 14, 2023) While traveling at 55mph the vehicle suddenly accelerated for about 2-3 seconds and several dashboard lights turned on and flashed not available. (ABS, Traction control, Blinds Spot, pre-collision) I safely pulled over turned the truck off, waited a few seconds. Turned the truck back on, and ABS light was solid on the dashboard. I drove another 15 miles stopped again, and when I restarted the check engine light remained solid. After inspecting the truck, I found gear oil leaking from the right rear tire. I removed the plastic hub cap and discovered sheared off axle bolt. Truck was delivered to dealer for repair.

The manufacturer was contacted and advised the contact to reach out to the dealer for assistance. The contact stated that a case was filed. The failure mileage was unknown.

While driving in reverse, the rear cross-traffic alert would sometimes malfunction and not alert the driver that a vehicle or an object or pedestrian was near the rear of the vehicle. Occasionally, the message "inoperable" was displayed. Also, the forward-collision warning system would not activate when driving too close to a nearby vehicle or object. In addition, while driving, the adaptive cruise control was activated and the vehicle ahead reduced speed however, the adaptive cruise control deactivated instead of reducing speed causing the driver to press the brake pedal to avoid a collision. The vehicle was returned to the dealer who attempted to perform the software updates however, the updates failed to fix the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 1,000.

The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact was able to disengage the cruise control and drive at the normal speed limit of 30 MPH. The contact stated he had experienced the same failure twice. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer however, the mechanic was unable to determine the cause of the failure.
