VEHICLE'S STEERING IS VERY POOR.
VEHICLE STALLS IN THE MIDDLE OF ACCELERATION OR WON'T START. WILL TURN OVER BUT WILL NOT FIRE. ALSO RIGHT REAR WHEEL BEARINGS MALFUNCTIONED. *AK
WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE ON DRY PAVEMENT, WHEN ABS BRAKES WERE DEPRESSED THEY WOULD LOCK UP. VEHICLE THEN SKIDDED OFF ROAD, HIT TREE HEAD-ON. NO AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. PREVIOUS PROBLEM, DRIVER'S REAR WHEEL WOULD LOCK UP. HAS POLICE REPORT* AK.
VEHICLE WILL CUT OFF AT A STOP. THERE IS NO RESPONSE FROM THE IGNITION UNTIL ENGINE COOLS.
FRONT RIGHT BRAKE MAKES LOUD CLUNKING NOISE. BRAKES DO NOT FUNCTION WELL EARLY IN COLD WEATHER, MUST BE PUMPED SEVERAL TIME TO KICK IN.
WHILE TRAVELING AT APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, DRIVER NOTICED A RED GLOW IN FRONT OF THE SPEEDOMETER AND SMOKE BEGAN TO FILL THE VEHICLE. WITHIN TWO MINUTES THE VEHICLE WAS FULLY ENGULFED IN FLAMES.
DEFROST SYSTEM NOT EFFECTIVE IN CLEARING WINDSHIELD.

THE LOCK PLATE OF THE DRIVER SIDE INBOARD SEAT TRACK ADJUSTERS WERE MANUFACTURED WITH AN UNAUTHORIZED MODIFICATION TO THE FABRICATION PROCESS WHICH CAUSES THE SEAT NOT TO FULLY ENGAGE IN CERTAIN SEATING POSITIONS NEAR THE MID-POINT OF THE SEAT TRACK TRAVEL.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH THE SEAT CAN MOVE, WHICH WOULD RESULT IN REDUCED OCCUPANT PROTECTION.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE DRIVER SIDE INBOARD SEAT TRACK.
