REAR AXLE NOT SUFFICIENT TO CARRY WEIGHT OF TRAILER OCCUPIED WITH HORSES; NUTS/BOLTS/BANDS WORE OUT, CAUSING TIRE/HUB TO FALL OFF WHILE DRIVING INTERSTATE, ENTIRE AXLE ASSEMBLY NEEDED REPLACING. *AK

IMPROPER WELD PROCEDURES WERE USED TO ATTACH THE TONGUE CHANNEL TO THE TRAILER FRAME.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: POSSIBLE SEPARATION OF THE TONGUE FROM THE TRAILER COULD OCCUR INCREASING THE RISK OF A VEHICLE ACCIDENT.

Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSTALL FOUR BOLTS TO REINFORCE THE TONGUE CHANNEL WELD TO THE FRAME.
