-ON 9/26/2019 AT APPROXIMATELY 0800 HOURS, WHILE DRIVING ON THE WHITESTONE EXPY, I UP-SHIFTED INTO 3RD GEAR FROM 2ND GEAR, UPON RELEASING THE CLUTCH, THE ENGINE STALLED CAUSING THE REAR WHEEL TO LOCK (I WAS TRAVELLING AT APPROXIMATELY 54 MPH). -ON 9/26/2019 AT APPROXIMATELY 0800 HOURS, WHILE DRIVING ON THE WHITESTONE EXPY, I UP-SHIFTED INTO 3RD GEAR FROM 2ND GEAR, UPON RELEASING THE CLUTCH, THE ENGINE STALLED CAUSING THE REAR WHEEL TO LOCK (I WAS TRAVELLING AT APPROXIMATELY 54 MPH). I QUICKLY PRESSED THE CLUTCH AND COASTED TO THE SHOULDER LANE (A SEMI-TRUCK WAS DIRECTLY BEHIND ME). UPON ATTEMPTING TO RESTART THE ENGINE THE ENGINE HESITATED TO START SEVERAL TIMES. WHEN THE ENGINE FINALLY STARTED, I HELD THE CLUTCH PUTTING THE BIKE INTO 1ST GEAR AND PROCEEDED. APPROXIMATELY 10 FEET LATER THE ENGINE STALLED AGAIN AND I QUICKLY PRESSED THE CLUTCH AND COASTED BACK INTO THE SHOULDER LANE!!! -ON 09/26/2019 AT APPROXIMATELY 1930 HOURS, WHILE DRIVING ON THE BQE ON THE RIGHT LANE, THE BIKE WAS IN 2ND GEAR WHILE DRIVING THE ENGINE STALLED AGAIN!!!!! I QUICKLY PRESSED THE CLUTCH AND PRESSED THE ENGINE START BUTTON TO CONTINUE. -ON 09/26/2019 AT APPROXIMATELY 2030 HOURS, WHILE APPROACHING A RED LIGHT, I PRESSED THE CLUTCH AND THE ENGINE STALLED, HESITATING TO RESTART.

21V738000 · Structure:motorcycle:kickstand/center Stand

Ducati North America (Ducati) is recalling certain 2019 Hypermotard 950 SP motorcycles. The side stand may be improperly welded, potentially causing the stand to break.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: A broken side stand could result in the motorcycle falling down, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy: Dealers will install a new side stand, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed October 22, 2021. Owners may contact Ducati customer service at 1-888-391-5446. Ducati's number for this recall is SRV-RCL-21-011.

19V780000 · Electrical SYSTEM:12V/24V/48V Battery

Ducati North America (Ducati) is recalling certain 2019-2020 Hypermotard 950 and Hypermotard 950 SP motorcycles. The negative terminal on the battery may break, potentially causing a sudden loss of power and an engine stall.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: An engine stall can increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Ducati will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the routing of the negative cable, rerouting it as necessary. In addition, the battery will be better secured with insulation pads. These repairs will be performed free of charge. The recall began December 10, 2019. Owners may contact Ducati customer service at 1-888-391-5446. Ducati's number for this recall is SRV-RCL-19-003.
