I HAVE A 2001 DODGE RAM 1500 SLT QUAD CAB THAT WAS PURCHASED USED IN 2002. WHEN I PURCHASED THE TRUCK THERE WERE NO PROBLEMS. A COUPLE MONTHS AFTER I NOTICED A CRACK STARTING IN THE DASH THAT ENDED UP BEING THE FIST OF MANY HOLES THAT FORMED IN THE DASH. AFTER DOING SOME SEARCHING I FOUND THAT I WAS NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS PROBLEM. ALMOST EVERYONE I TALKED TO IN TOWN AND ACROSS THE US, VIA THE INTERNET, WERE EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM I HAD. SOME WERE VERY SUBTLE WHILE OTHERS WERE TO THE POINT OF BEING DANGEROUS. MINE AT THE MOMENT IS PURELY COSMETIC AND HAS NOT INTERFERED WITH ANY OF THE ELECTRICAL OR HEATING AND COOLING SYSTEMS THAT RESIDE UNDER/BEHIND THE DASH. AS THE YEARS HAVE GONE ON THE PROBLEM HAS GOTTEN WORSE. IT WASN'T TILL JUST RECENTLY THAT I RAN ACROSS THIS AND A COUPLE OTHER SITES WHERE I COULD DOCUMENT THIS PROBLEM AND FEEL THAT SOMETHING MAY ACTUALLY GET DONE. I AM CONCERNED THAT I MAY BECOME A VICTIM OF COMMON WIRING PROBLEMS THAT OTHERS HAVE EXPERIENCED. SOME COMPLAINANTS HAD LOST ALL USE OF THEIR LIGHTING SYSTEMS. I AM PERSONALLY AM UNEASY THAT IF I WERE IN AN ACCIDENT THAT I OR MY PASSENGERS (WIFE AND KIDS) MY BE PELTED WITH SHRAPNEL FORM THIS DEFECTIVE DASH. *TR
