I have a back up camera as original equipment with the vehicle. For several years now, the camera will intermittently work. Many times, the camera comes on then quickly goes out. I have no picture to assist me when backing out of the driveway, the parking spot, or other situations. I need to crane my head, neck and body around to make sure the way is clear. I use the mirrors and even had my passenger get out of the car and assist in backing out of a parking spot. When I took the car to the dealership, I was told I would need to buy a new camera which costs hundreds of dollars. This week I found out there is a recall on Dodge, Jeep and Chrysler vehicles regarding the back up camera. However it does not cover the year of my vehicle which is 2015. I am wondering why my vehicle is not included. IS it because those model years are more likely not to be operating on the road??? Is it not still a safety issue? Please let me know what I can do. I like my car and it isn't junk yet.

Automatic transmission shifter cable bushing on transmission side failed for the second time. This is a recalled item for this make and model. It was repaired in 2019 but has failed again. Dealer told me they would not repair again. It’s obvious the material they use to make the bushing are prematurely failing do to heat.

I have a warning light on my car for P1065 and P1061 codes. These two codes comes and go away on their own. It usually occurs after starting the car and driving it for a few minutes. This causes the car to shake and slow down suddenly in the middle of the road. The car stops to shake only when I shut it off and turn it back on right away. Another issue is that my car key get stuck in the ignition sometimes after shutting it ofand I have to wait a few seconds for the key to come off or press the button on the gearshift handle a few times to make it come out. I wonder if this is related to the Transmission Shift Cable Bushing safety recall repair that was done a few years ago on dodge dart vehicles Lastly, I have been getting the "parking light out" warning messages on my car dashboard but all the light appears to be working fine. I have looked up these issues online and they appear to be common problems faced by Dodge Dart owners.

The brake booster failed mid drive leaving us without any braking assist, which means to stop the car, it took a lot longer to come to a stop which is a significant safety concern. There is a loud hissing noise only when applying the break. You can find air being blown out of the booster when you press the pedal. Brake assist is completely gone, so even keeping the car stopped while in drive requires significant pressure. Communicated with a local dodge dealership and they weren’t able to give an answer on the issue. This car shows that it was manufactured 03/15 There was a previous recall for this same model, but a year earlier. There does feel as if there is oil on the plunger of the booster. Driving down the highway, I pushed on the gas pedal and my engine began to rev. I looked at the dashboard, and the dashboard showed I was in park. I looked down at my shifter, and the shifter was positioned in drive but the light on the column was showing I was in park. I was able to get pulled over and stopped. I moved the shifter into park and back into drive. Transmission remainder in park. I turned the car off and repeated the steps. The transmission remained in park. After the 4th attempt, I left the car off for more than a minute. The transmission finally shifted into drive. Less than an hour later, I was turning through a busy intersection, and the engine began to rev again. This time, the transmission did not show it was I park and the gear shifter was in the drive position. Due to not having enough moment to continue further, I wound up stopping in front of a car that was attempting to make a right hand turn onto the highway. This time, after putting the car in park and moving the shifter back into drive, the car engaged and I was able to move out of the way of the car that was trying to turn onto the highway. My safety was put at risk as momentum was the only thing that got me through the remaining part of the busy intersection. Going down the road or making a turn in a busy intersection and potentially being stuck in the middle of either is asking for a wreck to happen. At this point, I had only had the car for a week in which I bought it from the dealership and it still had under 100,000 miles. There were no warning messages/lights and no other indication of something was wrong. Both incidents occurred on March 8, 2024 between 3 and 4pm eastern time. The dealership stated the vehicle had been inspected prior to purchase and after stopping by the dodge dealership (owned by same person, different dealership), the service department stated spark plugs had been replaced as well as a cv valve back on 2/24.

RQ25002 · Recall 19V-293 Post Remedy Failures

Status: closed (inferred from source dates) · Power Train:automatic Transmission:lever And Linkage:floor Shift; Power Train:shift Linkage/cable/rod; Power Train:shift Linkage/cable/rod:retaining Fasteners/hardware

On June 30, 2025, the Office of Defects Investigations (ODI) opened RQ25002 to investigate and review the effectiveness of Recall 19V-293. This recall was intended to address deterioration and detachment of shifter cable bushings by replacing them with an improved bushing that is less susceptible to deterioration from chemicals, oils, and solvents in MY2013-2016 Dodge Dart vehicles equipped with automatic transmissions and manufactured by Fiat Chrysler Automotive US LLC (FCA US). If the shifter cable becomes detached from the transmission, the transmission gear position may not match the driver’s intended gear selection. This mismatch could result in unintended vehicle movement or rollaway when the driver believes the transmission is in PARK, increasing the risk of a crash and/or injury. ODI has received sixty-three (63) Vehicle Owner Questionnaires (VOQ) alleging worn or misadjusted shifter cables and/or shifter cable detachments in subject vehicles that had already received the remedy for Recall 19V-293. Complainants reported incidents of bushing deterioration and detachment, resulting in gear-selection mismatch despite the prior recall repair, raising concerns regarding the effectiveness and durability of the implemented remedy and the adequacy of the recall. ODI’s investigation sought to determine whether the remedy used in recall 19V-293 adequately addressed the cause of the failure and whether other vehicles using the same bushing design might be affected. In response, FCA US and Dura Automotive Systems Inc. (Dura) determined that the repair for Recall 19V-293 did not sufficiently address the issue, and therefore, a safety defect exists in the subject vehicle population. As a result, FCA US and Dura initiated the following recall actions: ·         Recall 25V-674 (FCA US) is intended to address MY 2013–2016 Dodge Dart vehicles repaired under 19V-293 or otherwise equipped with suspect service parts. Remedy is under development. ·         Recall 25E-065 (Dura) is intended to address the defect at the equipment level by recalling affected gearshift control cable assemblies distributed as service components. Remedy is under development. The recalls initiated by FCA US (25V-674), and Dura Automotive Systems Inc. (25E-065) were received prior to ODI sending an Information Request (IR) letter to FCA. These two recalls seem to resolve the concerns that prompted investigation RQ25002 by replacing the previously recalled and service-supplied shifter cable assembly with an improved design, currently under development. The vehicle scope concern identified in this query was addressed by the new recalls including all Model Year 2013–2016 Dodge Dart vehicles produced and equipped with the affected shifter cable assembly. Accordingly, ODI is closing Investigation RQ25002. The agency will continue to monitor field performance and recall completion data to evaluate the effectiveness of the new remedy. ODI reserves the right to take additional action if warranted by future circumstances. To review the ODI reports cited in the Closing Resume ODI Report Identification Number document, go to NHTSA.gov.
