I JUST RECENTLY PURCHASED A 2013 DODGE DART SXT RALLY WITH 2.0 ENGINE. I PUT ABOUT 3500 MILES ON THE VEHICLE AND BEGAN TO NOTICE A WHOOSH OF AIR NOISE WHEN DEPRESSING MY BRAKE PEDAL. A COUPLE DAYS WENT BY AND THE WHOOSHING NOISE BEGAN TO GET WORSE I ALSO BEGAN TO EXPERIENCE A LOSS OF BRAKES WHEN BACKING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY AND WHILE DRIVING ON THE ROAD I NOTICED THE BRAKES BEGAN TO FADE QUICKLY RESULTING IN THE PEDAL BECOMING SUPER STIFF AND HAVING NO BRAKE PRESSURE ON THE PADS TO THE ROTORS. A COUPLE MORE DAYS WENT BY AND I COMPLETELY LOST BRAKES IN THE CAR WHILE DRIVING RESULTING IN ME HAVING TO USE THE PARKING BRAKE TO STOP THE CAR. I TOOK MY CAR TO THE DODGE DEALER AND EXPLAINED WHAT HAD HAPPENED, A SERVICE TECH TEST DROVE THE CAR AND ALMOST CRASHED IT. HE EXPLAINED THE CAR HAS NO BRAKES AND HE'D HAVE TO TROUBLESHOOT THE PROBLEM. THEY CAME BACK AND SAID TO ME THAT THEY WOULD HAVE TO REPLACE THE POWER BOOSTER AND POSSIBLY THE MASTER CYLINDER. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS CAR NOW. I HAVE READ MULTIPLE REPORTS OF CATASTROPHIC BRAKE FAILURE AND PARKING BRAKE FAILURE ON THE SAME MODEL YEAR DODGE DARTS. I FEEL THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL ON THIS BRAKE SITUATION. WHAT IS DODGE GOING TO DO, TO ENSURE THAT THESE POWER BOOSTERS/MASTER CYLINDERS DO NOT CONTINUE TO FAIL? *TR

I PURCHASED A 2013 DODGE DART SXT MULTIAIR TURBO 6-SPEED MANUAL ON 11/23/2013 AND WITHIN A WEEK, I TOOK THE CAR BACK FOR SERVICE BEING THAT THE WHEEL WAS OFF-CENTERED TO THE LEFT AND THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT ALIGNED ALL FOUR WHEELS. SHORTLY AFTER THAT, I BEGAN TO NOTICE THAT THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD STICK WHEN I TRIED TO TURN AS IF IT HAD LOCKED WHILE DRIVING STRAIGHT THEN UNLOCK WHEN ENGAGED IN TURNING. ALSO, I NOTICED THAT WHILE DRIVING ALONG IN 6TH GEAR AROUND 65-70 MPH, I WOULD HEAR A THUMPING OR SOMETHING GOING ON UNDERNEATH THE CAR LIKE SOMETHING WAS LOOSE, OR A FLAPPING SOUND. I AM GOING TO TAKE THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP TO SEE IF THEY WILL DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT BUT HAVE DOCUMENTED THE COMPLAINT UP HERE FOR MY RECORDS. MY CAR ONLY HAS ABOUT 8,500 MILES ON IT AND ALSO I SEE THERE ARE RECALLS ON THE SIDE AIRBAG, PARKING BRAKE, AND THE POWERTRAIN. ALL OF THESE RECALLS WERE PLACED PRIOR TO THE DATE OF PURCHASING MY CAR AND I WILL QUESTION THE DEALERSHIP ASAP TO SEE IF THESE THINGS WERE FIXED PRIOR TO THE PURCHASE OF THE CAR. I WILL SUBMIT FURTHER UPDATES ON THIS SITE ONCE I SEE HOW THIS DEALERSHIP HANDLES THIS!!! *TR

OWNED THIS VEHICLE FOR 10 MONTHS AND ISSUES WITH ENGINE STALLING/HESITATION HAVE GOTTEN PROGRESSIVELY WORSE SINCE MY FIRST ENCOUNTER AT THE DEALERSHIP AT 13,300 MILES. I FIRST REPORTED THIS ISSUE WITH ENGINE STALLING/HESITATION AND THEY STATED IT WAS A SPARK PLUG/PLUG WIRE ISSUE, (IRIDIUM SPARK PLUGS RATED FOR 100,000 MILES). AFTER REPLACING THE SPARK PLUG THEY THEN DETERMINED IT NEEDED A CONTROL MODULE REPLACED AND AN ENGINE RESET FOR MY COMPUTER SYSTEM. AFTER THAT IT HAS BEEN IN A FEW MORE TIMES OVER THE LAST 3 MONTHS FOR THE SAME ENGINE STALLING AND HESITATION ISSUES. MY ENGINE HAS BEEN "RESET AND THE COMPUTER UPDATED" AND SINCE MY GAS MILEAGE HAS GOTTEN WORSE AS WELL AS THE STALLING/HESITATION ISSUES ARE STILL THERE AND BECOMING MORE FREQUENT. THEN MY TRANSMISSION STARTED SLIPPING AS I WAS IN D AS IF I HAD PUT MY VEHICLE INTO N AND PRESSED THE GAS PEDAL JUST REVVING THE ENGINE, IT HAS DONE THE SAME WHEN I SWITCH TO PUT MY VEHICLE IN R. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER AND THEY COULDN'T DUPLICATE THE ISSUE THEREFORE GIVING THEM NOTHING TO GO BY OTHER THAN MY WORD OF MOUTH EXPERIENCE. DAYS AFTER TAKING MY VEHICLE HOME FROM THE DEALER IT WENT OUT ON MY AS I WAS DRIVING ON A MAJOR THOROUGHWAY AT 50MPH. I PRESSED THE GAS APPROACHING AN INTERSECTION AND IT JUST REVVED THE ENGINE, LIGHTS FLASHED ON SHIFTER AND DASH. I HAD TO MANUALLY SWITCH THROUGH MY GEARS TO TRY AND GET THE CAR TO GO. AFTER MY HUSBAND PULLED MY VEHICLE TO THE NEAREST PARKING AREA SAFELY I TRIED TO START THE VEHICLE AGAIN AND GO FORWARD, IT WOULDN'T START RIGHT AWAY IT TRIED TO CRANK BUT WOULDN'T TURN OVER WHEN IT STARTED JUST THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON MY DASH NO MORE ERRORS WERE DISPLAYED. I DID MANAGE TO TAKE PICTURES WITH MY CELLPHONE BEFORE. I WANT DODGE TO OWN UP AND FIX THIS INSTEAD OD PUTTING A BANDAID AND SENDING ME ALONG. CUSTOMER CARE HAS NOT BEEN HELPFUL AT ALL AND THIS VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE. *TR

THEY DID NOT HAVE THE MODEL IN STOCK, SO I ENDED UP BUYING 2 NEW TO BE SAFE ON THE ROAD. SINCE THE DEALERSHIP DETERMINED IT WAS A IMPACT RELATED DAMAGE, IT IS NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY AND THERE IS NO ROAD-HAZARD. THE SAME MODEL TIRE WAS RECALLED BY KUHMO LAST YEAR ACCORDING TO THE FORUMS. I DO STILL HAVE THE OLD TIRE. THE REST OF THE TIRE LOOKS FINE AND HAS NOT BEEN ABUSED. THEIR REASONING WAS THAT IF YOU CANNOT SEE IT WHEN DEFLATED, THEN IT WAS IMPACT RELATED, NOT MANUFACTURING DEFECT. I CAN FIND IT EITHER WAY. *TR
