They indicated that they were not aware of any factory recalls for the failing paint. I've heard that other car owners have experienced the same issue.

I purchased this car at CarZone in Riverside This April 2024. I drove home with my kids in the dark and people kept honking. The lights and turn signals did not work. I took the car back in. The back up camera was broken, the safety system is broken, brakes are bad, they put two bald and all four tires with gummy plugs after I brought it back a fourth time. The tires were not fixed. I found out driving on the highway with my daughter. My tires popped. I had to pay for all four to be replaced and the dealership will not take any of my calls. I then had a check oil light. I took the car in. Pep boys discovered they had replaced the oil hose with a different one. It backed up into the engine. I paid for an oil change and was told to keep an eye on it and contact the dealership. They would not respond. I went back to pep boys be my car was completely out of oil one week later and my headlights kept dying and the car wont accelerate. They did another diagnostic and contacted the dealership and warranty saying it needs a new engine entirely. They sent an adjuster who said nothing was wrong and closed it. I have had to take the car back since. The liftgate is zip tied to the tail pipe. I am terrified to drive this car, especially the head light and brakes. I bought new tires bc the dealership would not help even though I have all the text messages they sent about the issues. It no longer accelerates the way it should and I have to put three quarts of oil minimum per week to keep it running at all. I am out so much money that I do not have and I cant drive an unsafe car with my babies in it. Upon further investigation I have found this dealership has done this to many people. I just need help getting them to take this car back or pay to fix it and to make sure they are following safety laws. I feel responsible to report this because I know I wish someone else had and it would be absolutely devastating if someone got injured in a vehicle sold by them.

The first problem that happened with the 2017 Chevrolet Suburban was we were driving and the 1 of 2 brake boosters gave out. We had to contact with customer service of Chevrolet of informed them about what happened. We took the vehicle to a local dealership to have fixed, then after that we started to have problems with the transmission, fuel pump and the air ride. With the transmission/electrical system you would be driving down the road, the next thing that you will know is that the door locks will lock then unlock, then the vehicle will would let a big amount of smoke out of the vehicle, and then the vehicle would power down to 20mph. You would have to drive 20 for 5 miles until the vehicle would quit and you could drive normal. I was going to go for my mandatory user maintenance and I did not get 2 miles out of town and the transmission went out of the vehicle.

The condenser has a faulty design and cracks, causing it to leak flammable R1234YF coolant in the engine bay. Additionally, this leak causes the AC system to stop cooling, thus making the inside of the vehicle a very dangerous place, particularly during summer months, as it is impossible to cool. There are thousands of reports of this issue on all Chevy/GM models between 2015-2020 including tahoe, silverado, suburban, and yukons. The manufacturer has put out a "special coverage 17336" adjustment but it only covers the vehicles up to 60,000 miles and because it's not part of a recall it's not automatically sent out to the owners of the vehicles. Further, a large number of vehicles are well beyond the 60,000 mile limit in the special coverage before the owner ever learns of the issue. According to SAE J1739, "Manufacturers must conduct Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) as provided in SAE J1739 (adopted 2009). Manufacturers must keep the FMEA on file for at least three years from the date of creation." I would challenge that chevrolet did not do this FMEA testing or did not do it per standard as it would have shown this issue. Instead they moved forward with production affecting hundreds of thousands of their most popular vehicles from 2015-2020 and resulting in the consumer having to pay an average of $1100 in repair costs due to a known defect from the manufacturer.

GM has a special coverage TSB for A/C issues relating to a condenser unit and leakage of refrigerant. My 2017 Chevy Suburban has had the same issue just occur at 68,000 miles. Complete loss of A/C. After researching online, this is a VERY common problem. Most instances are just outside of the manufacturer warranty as well. Special Coverage TSB No. 17336-04 covers this issue for specific VIN numbers based on where they were manufactured. Regardless of where manufactured there are MANY other vehicles having the same issue. PLEASE INVESTIGATE. As it is just now getting extremely hot in Georgia, there is no telling how long this has been an issue. And of course, I will need to have the A/C fixed long before any action is realized from this submission.. Hopefully other will benefit from the post!! Thanks for you help and consideration.
