The contact's husband owns a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 2500. The contact stated while her husband was driving 20 MPH and approaching a traffic light, the engine started to misfire. The contact's husband was unable to restart the vehicle after several attempts. The vehicle was towed to the hotel where he was staying. The vehicle was then towed to a local dealer where it was diagnosed that the CP4 high-pressure fuel pump had failed. The dealer also informed the contact that there were metal fragments inside the fuel lines and the fuel injectors. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. I was driving down the road, the truck began to shake and bounce real bad. I took to the dealership we purchased the vehicle from and they said $3500 for a new front end to replace all the parts. This truck has never been wrecked or hit anything. This vehicle has 85000 miles on it and its supposed to be a diesel farm truck. It appears the front end was made with parts and material that is not in compliance with industry standards. I was told by the dealership mechanic that the front end could collapse going down the road and injure someone when it collapses. This is on the front end of the truck, the entire front suspension is inadequately equipped with components to maintain the structural integrity of the suspension system.

Steering wheel has become very sloppy and there is a large “gap” when turning left or right. Truck wanders left/right and hard to keep straight. It used to be very precise. Now a moderate dip will cause a left/right shudder in the steering wheel and no control of steering until it settles out. Had it aligned and dealer said all components were good. Out of warranty, dealer said the tab on problem would help for a period of time at $800, or a new steering box would be a longer but not permanent fix, at $2000 or so. Stated very common with this truck along with needing frequent realignments, all related to new electric steering system.
Failure of the HMI caused a flickering screen during driving operations with warnings and cautions constantly flashing making it very difficult to concentrate on the road conditions and traffic. Parking the vehicle using the back up camera was also affected making it impossible to see approaching objects from the rear.
Over a week of time the steering when driving straight became unstable. when driving straight the vehicle will wander within lane or leave lane and you have to input 6" to 12" of wheel steering back and forth to stay on intended path.

General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2015-2016 GMC Sierra 1500, 2500, 3500, and Chevrolet Silverado 1500, 2500, and 3500 trucks. The roof-rail air bag (RRAB) inflator end cap may detach from the inflator, or the inflator sidewall may rupture.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: A separated inflator end cap or inflator rupture can allow compressed gas to escape, resulting in the end cap or other components being propelled into the vehicle, increasing the risk of injury or crash.
Remedy: Dealers will replace the left and right side RRAB modules, free of charge. Interim owner notification letters informing owners of the safety risk were mailed on August 18, 2021. Owners will receive a second notice when the remedy is available. Phase I owner notification letters were mailed on May 5, 2022. Phase II owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on May 31, 2022. Owners may contact GMC customer service at 1-888-988-7267 or Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020. General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2015-2016 Chevrolet Silverado 2500, 3500, 1500 Crew Cab Special Service, Tahoe Police Pursuit/Special Service, GMC Sierra 2500, and 3500 vehicles. The brake pedal pivot nut may loosen, causing the brake pedal to be loose or inoperative.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: If the brake pedal becomes loose or inoperative, the driver may be unable to stop the vehicle by using the brake pedal. Additionally, a loose pedal may also interfere with the accelerator pedal. Either condition may increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will add adhesive to the nut and reinstall the nut with increased tightness, free of charge. The recall began October 3, 2018. On the affected vehicles, the brake pedal pivot nut may loosen, causing the brake pedal to be loose or inoperative.
Consequence & remedy
