The transmission lost the ability to move the vehicle. The valve body for the transmission became inoperable at 7,600 miles. This is a safety issue because it can leave people stranded in cold/inclement weather. This happened without warning and the dealer replaced a spacer and check balls for the valve.

The contact safely coasted to the shoulder of the road and requested assistance from 911 to secure the vehicle from oncoming traffic. The vehicle was then towed to a dealer, where a diagnostic assessment confirmed a total engine failure, requiring replacement. The contact had previously taken the vehicle to a dealer for NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V274000 (Engine and Engine Cooling); however, the inspection yielded no visible issues, and the recall was marked as completed. The vehicle remained at the dealer and had yet to be repaired. The manufacturer had not been notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 25,500.

Truck suddenly refused to shift gears/stopped moving forward in HEAVY TRAFFIC, placing me and my family--and others on the roadway--in danger. Dealership inspected the vehicle on three separate occasions for the same (recurring) issue, replacing the control valve body on one visit and the entire transmission on the third. No advance warning that the issue was about to occur on any of the three instances, but check engine light came on afterward along with a message reading "reduced acceleration/drive with care".
Engine seized middle of road had to coast off into a safe spot to park
Oil cooler failed and truck was at dealer for a month over winter. Now June 20th transmission failed and there is no timeframe on the valve body. I am still making payments on this truck and no dealers have a timeframe.

While I was visiting my mother in Kentucky my 6.2 truck engine failed. It all happened really quick and no warning signs prior. Truck passed recall in April 26. I just left visiting my mother at nursing home. I was on Mountain Parkway when it all of a sudden started making a noise. It sounded like it was coming through firewall. All of sudden check engine light came on and I pulled over right before off ramp. I turned truck off for couple of minutes and started it back up. No light but as soon as I pulled back onto parkway noise started again. I was next to off ramp so I pulled into Marathon gas station and as I was pulling in it died and wouldn’t start back. Truck was taken to dealership on 5/24. They said they can’t give me a courtesy vehicle due to me living out of state and I would have to get a rental on my own but GM would cover up to $44 per day. I contacted GM twice and said I needed to speak to dealer about getting a car. I explained what dealer told me but they said it was out of their control. Still paying for rental out of pocket. Dealer called and verified that engine needs replaced and new engine is back ordered with no ETA. I’m still paying truck payment on a truck I don’t have and no help from GM on giving a car to drive. Need help with escalating new engine replacement and rental that GM is covering.

On Febuary 13th 2026 I was involved in a wreck where I re-ended another stopped vehicle. There was no warning light or automated braking executed. I braked hard but not soon enough. There was no malfunction warnings or lights displayed before (or after ) the accident showing it to be inoperative. It has been in to the dealer 3 times since. Yes it is available for inspection. Was told that it will not work if you have your foot on brake or accelerator by one technician. This truck use to brake for no reason even going 70 mph on highway. I am pretty sure GM has reprogramed to fix that issue leaving the sensitivitu so low it now does not work at all.

I believe we are now on the third replacement camera module, in need of a fourth that was just replaced less than two months ago. GM makes it unreasonable to deal with. They require you drive over to the dealership just so they can see the same problem is occuring and only then will order parts, requiring a second appointment. The problem is the same and this is just adding more time to the failing safety issue which is of major concern because we can't just drop in easily because we are in a remote area. It sometimes takes over a month for me to be able to schedule a time to go over there --- so I go many weeks with a failing camera system.
