While shifting my vehicle from Park, a "Service Transmission" warning message appeared on the dashboard. The warning would illuminate and then disappear, but the vehicle continued to shift into the other gears. At the time the issue occurred, my truck had only 47,000 miles. I brought it to Blasius Chevrolet in [XXX] on XXX, for diagnosis. The dealership determined that the Transmission Control Assembly (Part # XXX) had failed and needed to be replaced. I was informed that this repair was not covered under the powertrain warranty because Chevrolet considers the Transmission Control Assembly to be excluded from powertrain coverage, and my basic warranty had already expired. I was quoted more than $900 for parts and labor. Initially, I was told the replacement part would arrive within a few days. Later, the technician stated that other Chevrolet dealerships had the part in stock. However, after contacting those dealerships, he was told they would not release their inventory. Chevrolet then advised that the part was on national backorder, with the earliest estimated availability of XXX. As a result, I have been without my truck for approximately one month, creating a significant hardship. After researching this issue, I found numerous reports from other Chevrolet owners experiencing the same failure involving the Transmission Control Assembly. The apparent frequency of these failures, combined with the nationwide backorder of the part, suggests this may be a widespread defect rather than normal wear and tear. I believe Chevrolet should either: Cover this repair under the powertrain warranty, as it directly affects the operation of the transmission, or Issue a recall or warranty extension if this is determined to be a common defect affecting vehicle safety and reliability. I am submitting this complaint because I am concerned that a failure of the Transmission Control Assembly could impact the safe operation of the vehicle. I have a complaint about GM and my 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LTZ regarding the radio / infotainment system failure after attempting a recommended software update, and the resulting degradation of installed safety features. On 08 MAY 2026, my infotainment system indicated a software update was necessary, so I followed the directions to complete the update. When the update was complete, my infotainment screen said there was a failure and to take it to the dealership for repair. The entire infotainement system is inoperative. The soonest appointment I could make was for 18 MAY 2026. On 18 MAY 2026, I took my Silverado into the dealership where I have it serviced to address the failure of my infotainment system. My service advisor informed me that I would need a new radio and that these radios are on a national backorder list. My advisor informed me that they have other customers who are experiencing the same issue and have been waiting for the replacement radio since January 2026. My advisor informs me that there is no estimated time of resolution. This defect inhibits safety features such as; use of OnStar, Google and Apple Maps that provide travel advisory hazards, parking camera views, vehicle systems status. Thank you.

Had a vehicle update for my 2023 Chevrolet Silverado and now my Onstar Module is toast and no longer under warranty bc I have 37,000 miles. Many reports of this happening to 2023 models but no recalls for this. Why should I have to pay $1000.00 for a part that is failing in many vehicles of the same year.

I am sending this email to report that my 2023 Chevrolet Silverado had its rear brakes lock up momentarily on consecutive days (1/13/26 & 1/14/26) driving 70-72 mph.  Each occurrence came on without warning and only lasted a brief moment, but locked up hard enough for my rear wheels to screech and slam me forward in the truck, thankfully there were no other vehicles near me. I took the truck to the dealership first thing in the morning on 1/15/26 to be informed later that day that the truck didn't show any codes.  The service department at my dealership contacted the TAC Dept. at GM and they determined that the problem was caused by the brake light wiring from my truck topper (that was after they asked if the customer had added any accessories to the truck).  I have had the topper for 3 years without any issues.  I reached out to the company that installed the topper and the owner said that GM is giving me the run around and trying to point the blame elsewhere. He himself has installed 100's of toppers and they follow the wiring instructions from Leer Toppers. He did a 30 second Google search and said [XXX] , the problem you have experienced is well documented online, GM knows what the problem is with your truck". My truck was at the dealership for 5 days before they released it to me, even after I told them that there are known and documented cases of their trucks experiencing momentary rear wheel lockups. I have called GM Customer Service twice and left messages regarding my truck and TAC # and haven't received a return call. I am fearful that when this happens again and if it does so in the wrong place at the wrong time the end of this story may be tragic.   If I was pulling a trailer, driving on ice or in rush hour traffic I can't imagine the outcome. GM knows they have a serious problem and they is comfortable in releasing a dangerous truck back onto the roads. The Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) has received 1,157 reports of engine bearing failure failures in the L87 6.2L engine produced by General Motors (GM). Of the 1,157 reports received, 173 are outside of the scope of recall 25V-274. These engines are installed in Model Years (MY) 2019–2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500, and 2021-2024MY Chevrolet Suburban and Tahoe, GMC Yukon/Yukon XL, and Cadillac Escalade/Escalade ESV vehicles. The subject engine failures were investigated as part of a Preliminary Evaluation (PE25001).  GM determined that these engine failures were due to multiple supplier manufacturing and quality issues. GM issued recall 25V-274 to address the supplier manufacturing and quality issues produced between March 1, 2021, and May 31, 2024. Based on the issuance of recall 25V-274, NHTSA has closed PE25001. ODI continues to receive a significant number of reports of engine failure in vehicles outside the scope of 25V-274.  This presents a potential safety risk that warrants further investigation.  ODI is opening this Engineering Analysis (EA) to further evaluate the scope and severity of the potential problem and to fully assess the potential safety-related issues of vehicles built outside the recall scope.
