January 23, 2026, Truck wouldn't start, would crank but not turn over. We lost power steering. We're stranded and had it towed to chevy dealership. System code reported the fuel pump control module had failed. For some reason, GM did not include Chevy Silverado in their list of vehicles in the 2025 fpcm recall. We're lucky we weren't on the freeway when this part failed. We would have been going 60mph with loss of power steering. GM needs to do better. Was repaired under warranty at Sunset Chevrolet 901 Traffic Ave, Sumner WA.

On April 29, 2025 we took our truck in for these 3 recalls Serial Data Gateway Module • N242435631 -Fuel Injector Flow Rate• N242450630 - Park Assist Retrofit - Exp 05/31/27• N222375790. We picked the truck up and had no issues. Then on November 28, 2025 our fuel injector 2 went out. According to articles we have found the recall for the fuel injector flow rate specifically addresses the ECM not controlling fuel injector flow rates and because it was not doing this correctly it put added stress on the fuel injector #2. We took the vehicle to Ken Garf Chevrolet American Fork Utah and they diagnosed the issue as the fuel injector 2 being bad. They quoted us with parts 2000 dollars to fix it. After researching this recall information we took the vehicle to Sky Chevrolet in Provo Utah where we got the vehicle and where it was serviced in April and asked them to look into the fix. They are telling us that they cannot find any correlation between the fuel injector flow rate and the fuel injector 2 going out so they are wanting $600 dollars to fix the fuel injector flow rate. The next thing since the N242435631 update was performed, the automated clock on longer syncs. This is a known side effect of the gateway module update. We were again told that they could find no correlation between the clock and the recall. When doing research we found that that the 2 are very much connected. I would also like to complain about Ken Garf and how they "diagnosed" an issue we told them was already there. I would like to refunded the 200 dollars for the diagnostic fee.

On Sunday October 12th, 2025, we were driving in Grand Rapids,MN when our truck (2002 Silverado [XXX] ) suddenly lost power. We were on a main highway without shoulders. The truck would not restart. The truck would not shift out of park to be rolled/pushed off the road. After about an hour, a tow truck arrived and towed the truck to our home ($200). We connected the ODB2 Code reader and found code P129F. After a bit of research, this code is related to a failed Fuel Pump Control Module (GM 13544060). The module is superseded with GM 13554821. We found this fuel control model is the subject of a recall (N252516900) on various GM vehicles that share a similar body design and year to this truck with this exact module. A semi-local dealer had the replacement part (GM 13554821 - $60) and we were able to replace it Monday morning to bring the vehicle back into service. I am requesting the following - Expand the recall to include any vehicles with this known-faulty Fuel pump control module INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I was slowing down when coming upon another vehicle. When I accelerated there was no power and I realized the engine had stalled. I was in the outer lane of 3 lanes of heavy traffic and was able to coast into a parking lot and stop. Luckily I was in the outer lane and in the right place at the right time to be able to get out of traffic. I got a text message instantly from OnStar saying to have the engine and transmission serviced immediately. The engine would not start. I called my dealership and told them what happened. They gave me a phone number for a tow service who towed the truck to their dealership garage. I had no prior messages or symptoms that the engine was going to fail. The dealership removed the faulty fuel pump module and replaced the fuel pump control module. I feel very fortunate that my wife and I were at a place where we could exit the highway and get help quickly.

I am writing because we received a 2nd recall letter about our 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 ZR2. It has the recall for the catastrophic engine failure and neither GM or Chevrolet seem interested in helping us. The Chevrolet representative from the BBB said yesterday that we did not qualify for any thing, no buy back and no financial compensation. She has been the only person who did not try to straight up lie about the engine just dead stopping. We had that issue on [XXX], while on the way to Hickory, NC for a doctors appointment for my husband. He is a [XXX]. He served in Iraq and Afghanistan. [XXX]. He has to maintain a strict schedule, every thing done at the same time every day. Meals, showers, chores, bedtime etc. It calms him. I didn’t want him to buy a Chevy truck, but he fell instantly in love with it. He added a bed cover, 3in lift kit, tinted windows, 20in wheels and tires. A chip that opens up the horsepower and a cold air intake. He bought the truck new in July 2023, from Pioneer Chevy in Abingdon VA. So we are moving right along until 17 miles from Morganton Nc when the truck just stopped. We were on the back mountain road so no one was behind us. My husband was able to get the truck in neutral and roll it to a place where we could get off the road. We waited about 2 hours for a tow to Everett Chevrolet. They would not let us have a loaner car so the tow driver took us to Enterprise & waited to make sure we got a car. So none of this keeps him on his schedule. We went back to the Chevy place where the service manager said it would be the next day before he could look at the truck. He did tell us that the truck had the engine failure recall. We had no idea until then. Thankfully the doctor held a place for us, our appointment was at 11:45am but we didn’t get there till around 3:00. We saw the doctor, got food & headed home to TN. The connecting rod and/or crankshaft engine components may have manufacturing defects that can lead to engine damage and engine failure.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect the engine, and as necessary, repair or replace the engine. For vehicles that pass inspection, dealers will add higher viscosity oil, install 6 oil fill cap, replace the oil filter, and update the owner's manual. Repairs will be performed free of charge. General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2020-2023 Cadillac CT4 and CT5; 2021-2023 Buick Envision; and 2022-2023 Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV, Chevrolet Silverado 1500, Suburban, Tahoe, GMC Sierra 1500, Yukon, and Yukon XL vehicles. The daytime running lights (DRLs) may not deactivate when the headlights are on. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: DRLs that do not deactivate as intended may result in a glare, reducing visibility, and increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: The body control module software will be updated by a dealer, or through an over-the-air (OTA) update, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 23, 2023. General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 vehicles. The sensing diagnostic module (SDM) was left in manufacturing mode and not activated at the assembly plant prior to shipment. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 208, "Occupant Crash Protection."
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: An SDM in manufacturing mode will not deploy the vehicle's air bags in a crash, increasing the risk of occupant injury.
Remedy: Dealers returned the vehicles to the GM assembly plant and the sensing diagnostic modules were activated. The vehicles had not been sold from dealer inventory and therefore no owner letters will be mailed. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020. General Motors (GM) has decided that certain 2022 model year Chevrolet Silverado, and GMC Sierra vehicles equipped with an accessory sport bar. The accessory sport bar contains a high-mounted brake light that may not function. In addition, it may block the vehicle's existing high-mounted brake light. As such, these vehicles may fail to conform to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "lamps, reflective devices, and associated equipment."
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: An inoperative high-mounted brake light can reduce visibility to other drivers and increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will inspect the installation of the accessory bar and provide the correct vehicle wiring, if necessary, free of charge. Interim owner notification letters advising owners of the safety risk were mailed on August 10, 2022. Owner notification letters were mailed on January 27, 2023. On January 16, 2026, the Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) opened Recall Query RQ26001. This investigation was opened to assess the remedy effectiveness of Recall 25V-274. ODI has received complaints alleging engine failure in vehicles after the recall remedy had been completed, whether that remedy involved an oil viscosity change or a complete engine replacement. General Motors (GM) issued Recall 25V-274 to address concerns of engine failure in the L87 engines produced between March 1, 2021 and May 31, 2024. GM cited the root cause as a supplier manufacturing and quality issue. GM’s recall remedy for Recall 25V-274 consisted of two different repairs, either an oil viscosity change or an engine replacement, based on the results of the remedy inspection procedure. ODI continues to receive reports of engine failures after the completion of the recall remedy. To date, ODI has received 499 complaints alleging post-remedy engine failure in vehicles subject to Recall 25V-274, 473 of which involved an oil viscosity change and 26 a complete engine replacement. Additionally, ODI has received 191 reports of L87 engine failures in engines produced after the production period cited in Recall 25V-274. GM reported receiving 6,953 complaints of post-remedy engine failure. ODI is opening this Engineering Analysisto continue investigating complaints of post-remedy engine failure. The Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) has received 1,157 reports of engine bearing failure failures in the L87 6.2L engine produced by General Motors (GM). Of the 1,157 reports received, 173 are outside of the scope of recall 25V-274. These engines are installed in Model Years (MY) 2019–2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500, and 2021-2024MY Chevrolet Suburban and Tahoe, GMC Yukon/Yukon XL, and Cadillac Escalade/Escalade ESV vehicles. The subject engine failures were investigated as part of a Preliminary Evaluation (PE25001). GM determined that these engine failures were due to multiple supplier manufacturing and quality issues. GM issued recall 25V-274 to address the supplier manufacturing and quality issues produced between March 1, 2021, and May 31, 2024. Based on the issuance of recall 25V-274, NHTSA has closed PE25001. On January 16, 2025, the Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) opened Preliminary Evaluation PE25001 after receiving complaints and field reports concerning engine failures in MY2019-2024 GM’s full-size truck and SUV T1XX platform equipped with the L87 6.2L V8 engine. These complainants alleged engine bearing failures resulting in knocking and growling noises from the engine’s bottom end and in some cases more severe consequences such as broken connecting rods leading to engine damage, or engine failure. If the engine fails during vehicle operation, the vehicle will lose propulsion, increasing the risk of a crash. On April 24, 2025, GM issued recall 25V-274 to address the concern with L87 engines produced between March 1, 2021, and May 31, 2024. GM cited the root cause as a supplier manufacturing and quality issues. GM’s recall remedy will be either an oil change to an oil with a different viscosity or engine replacement depending on the results of the remedy inspection procedure. To date, ODI has received 1,157 allegations of engine bearing failure. GM submitted 55,464 reports in total, with 29,752 unique VINs. ODI continues to receive allegations of L87 engine failures which fall outside of the scope of recall 25V-274. Based on GM’s recall, ODI will close this PE.
