DISCOVERED A NHTSA ON 1995 CHEVROLET PICKUP TRUCKS RELATIVE TO WINDSHIELD WIPER FAILURES. MINE HAS BEEN DOING THE SAME THING AS DESCRIBED IN NHTSA 98V150 FOR PAST 2 + YEARS. WHEN THEY STOP WORKING I HAVE TO STOP THE VEHICLE, RAISE THE HOOD AND REACH THE CIRCUT BOARD BOX ON THE FIREWALL. I SHAKE/RAP IT SLIGHTLY AND THE WIPERS START WORKING AGAIN. ALSO MOVING THE WIRES GOING INTO THE UNIT CAN CAUSE THE WIPERS TO STOP OR RUN. I HAVE CONTACTED CHEVROLET AND THEY CLAIM MY TRUCK IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL EVEN THOUGH IT IS THE SAME PROBLEM DESCRIBED IN NHTSA 98/150. THIS IS A HIGH RISK SAFETY PROBLEM AS THE WIPERS CAN FAIL AT ANY TIME OR INTERMITTINGLY. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY MY 1995 TRUCK IS EXCLUDED TO REPAIR THIS SAFETY DEFECT AND PROBLEM THAT'S JUST LIKE OTHER CHEVROLET 1995 TRUCKS. *AK
NOT COVERED UNDER ORIGINAL RECALL, HOWEVER SAME PART FAILD IN SAME MANNER AS RECALL. CHEVROLET WILL NOT COVER PART. DEALER ADMITTED THAT MANY OTHERS FROM SAME YEAR AND LATER ARE ALSO FAILING. THEY KEEP A GOOD SUPPLY ON HAND DUE TO THE HIGH FAILURE RATE ONTHIS PART FROM THOSE YEARS (95,, 96, 97) *AK
WINDSHIELD WIPERS DID NOT WORK CORRECTLY AT PURCHASE, STOPPED AT ANY TIME, STARTED AT ANY TIME, NEVER WORKED WHEN RAINING. THE SEATBELT FASTENER SEPARATED DAY AFTER PURCHASE, DEALER NEVER REPLACED - EXCUSE A CUSTOM PKG AND C OULD NOT MATCH SEAT BELT FASTENERS. - SAME WITH WINDSHIELD WIPERS. *AK
WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR WOULD STOP WHEN IN USE. THIS CAUSES POOR VISIBILITY. WOULD HAVE TO LIFT HOOD & BEAT ON MOTOR TO GET WIPERS STARTED. *AK
WINDSHIELD WIPERS ARE INOPERATIVE, REDUCING THE DRIVER'S VISIBILITY. CONSUMER ALSO NOTICED THERE WAS A RECALL LISTED FOR THE SAME TYPE OF PROBLEM, RECALL 98V150001. CONSUMER HAS CONTACTED THE DEALER. *AK *ML
THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS DO NOT FUNCTION AT ALL. DEALER SAYS IT'S THE CIRCUIT BOARD.*AK
WINDSHIELD WIPERS DO NOT OPERATE PROPERLY. THE WINDSHIELD WIPER FLUID LEAKS. DEALER CONTACTED, AND CANNOT REMEDY PROBLEM. PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION. *AK
CONSUMER WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD IN THE RAIN AND WINDSHIELD WIPERS DID NOT WORK. HE HAD TO PULL OVER OFF THE ROAD UNTIL VEHICLE SLOWED DOWN. CONSUMER HAD TO PLAY WITH THE SWITCH TO MAKE WINDSHIELD WIPERS WORK AGAIN. *AK
WINDSHIELD WIPERS WORK INTERMITTENTLYJUST LIKE THE RECALL STATES. DEALER HAS BEEN CONTACTED. VEHICLE NOT ELIGIBLE FOR RECALL BECAUSE OF VIN#. *AK *ML
