IT SHIFTS HARD (AND IT'S AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION). IN ADDITION, CRUISE CONTROL WILL NOT WORK DURING THIS CONDITION. *TR

WE PURCHASED THE IMPALA IN APRIL OF 2013 WITH 35,408 MILES ON THE CLOCK, WE DROVE IT AROUND TOWN THEN WE TOOK IT ON A TRIP TO CALIFORNIA FROM LAS VEGAS A FEW MONTHS LATER, WHEN WE WHERE ON THE WAY TO CALIFORNIA ON A NOT SO STEEP DOWNGRADE WE HIT THE BRAKES AT ABOUT 70MPH TO SLOW DOWN THE STEERING WHEEL SHOOK VIOLENTLY SIDE TO SIDE LIKE THE FAMOUS 'DEATH WOBBLE' BUT WE ONLY SLOWED TO ABOUT 60MPH. ON THE WAY BACK IT DID IT AGAIN THIS TIME WENT FROM 70 TO 67 MPH, WE TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID MY ROTORS NEEDED TO BE TURNED AND GAVE ME THE DEALER COLD SHOULDER.. I REPLACED THE FRONT ROTORS AND ALL 4 NEW TIRES AS OF TODAY AND IT STILL DOING IT, WENT BACK TO THE DEALER AND SAME THING, THIS CAR IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE OVER 50MPH BUT THE DEALER DOES NOT CARE AND IS OUT OF WARRANTY... I WILL NEVER BUY A GM PRODUCT EVER AS LONG AS I LIVE. I TOOK VIDEO OF THE SHAKING FROM 70 TO 67MPH I WILL POST IT ON YOUTUBE. THIS CAR IS CERTIFIED TOO NOT THAT IT MEAN ANYTHING TO ANYONE. *TR

WHILE GOING TO WORK APPROX. 6 MONTHS AGO A DEER CROSSED THE ROAD IN FRONT OF ME. I ATTEMPTED TO STEER AWAY FROM THE DEER ONLY TO NOTICE THAT THE STEERING WHEEL FELT AS IF IT HAD NO POWER STEERING. I WAS LUCKY THAT THE DEER CHANGED ITS COURSE OR I WOULD OF RAN INTO IT HEAD ON DUE TO THE STEERING BEING SO HARD. THE 2012 IMPALA HAS…

THE 2012 IMPALA HAS THE SAME ISSUE? GM IS NOT ADDRESSING THIS ISSUE. I HAVE A PI DOCUMENT FROM GM WHICH IS NOT AVAILABLE TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC. IT CONFIRMS THIS STEERING ISSUE WITH THE 2011 CHEVY IMPALA (ALL MODELS). THIS PI STATES TO THE MECHANICS TO TAKE CONSUMERS FOR A RIDE IN A PARKING LOT AND PERFORM PARKING LOT MANEUVERS AT SLOW SPEEDS.THEN TELL THE CONSUMER IT IS A NORMAL CONDITION IF THE STEERING ISSUE IS DUPLICATED. MY ATTORNEY STILL HAS POSSESSION OF MY INDEPENDENT TECHNICAL EXPERT REPORT WHICH STATES THAT THE STEERING IS EXTREMELY HARD AT LOW SPEEDS. MY CASE WAS LOST IN ARBITRATION AND THE DECISION WAS MADE IN A FEW HOURS. I DO HAVE THE DOCUMENT NO. [XXX]. DOCUMENT ID [XXX]. I WANT ALL CONSUMERS TO KNOW WHAT TO EXPECT IF THEY PURCHASE A 2011 IMPALA AND HAVE THIS PROBLEM. I DID NOTE THAT THE NHTSA HAS THIS STEERING ISSUE DOCUMENTED. HOWEVER GM STATES THAT THIS IS NOT THEIR BULLETIN AND NONE EXIST FOR THIS ISSUE. I WAS GIVEN THIS PI BY MISTAKE. *JS INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

14V355000 · Electrical System:ignition

Jun 23, 2014

This defect can affect the safe operation of the airbag system. Until this recall is performed, customers should remove all items from their key rings, leaving only the ignition key. The key fob (if applicable), should also be removed from the key ring. General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2005-2009 Buick LaCrosse, 2006-2011 Buick Lucerne, 2000-2005 Cadillac DeVille, 2006-2011 Cadillac DTS, 2006-2014 Chevrolet Impala, and 2006-2007 Chevrolet Monte Carlo vehicles. In the affected vehicles, the weight on the key ring and road conditions or some other jarring event may cause the ignition switch to move out of the run position, turning off the engine.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: If the key is not in the run position, the air bags may not deploy if the vehicle is involved in a crash, increasing the risk of injury. Additionally, a key knocked out of the run position will cause loss of engine power, power steering, and power braking, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash.

Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will install two key rings and an insert in the key slot or a cover over the key head on all ignition keys, free of charge. The recall began on September 23, 2014. Owners may contact General Motors customer service at 1-800-521-7300 (Buick), 1-800-458-8006 (Cadillac), and 1-800-222-1020 (Chevrolet). GM's number for this recall is 14299.

12V377000 · Suspension:front:control Arm:lower Arm

Aug 3, 2012

General Motors (GM) is recalling certain model year 2008-2012 Chevrolet Impala police vehicles because the front lower control arms may fracture. This safety recall does not include non-police Chevrolet Impala vehicles.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: A broken control arm can result in the loss of control of the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace both front lower control arms, free of charge. The safety recall began on August 21, 2012. Owners may contact the Chevrolet owner center at 1-866-694-6546.
