This vehicle with a total of 700 miles on the odometer, gave several warning notifications this morning on my way to work. Service high voltage system, reduced acceleration notification. I was on the interstate and suddenly became unable to accelerate to keep up with traffic, creating a dangerous situation for my safety. This is a know problem with the Blazer EV, as GM had previously issued a stop sale order in December of 2023, a supposed software update was issued and they continue to sell the dangerous vehicles, as the software update did not fix the problem as I just experienced it today, on a car I bought brand new 2 weeks ago with 700 miles on the odometer.

The emergency brakes engaging in reverse and while in drive. Not available for inspection as the vehicle is now totaled. It was involved in a rollover accident. I believe the emergency brakes caused the rollover. If the rollover was in fact due to the emergency brakes engaging, the accident could have happened on the highway, or a busier street putting several lives in danger. Thankfully, there were no other vehicles involved. The dealership as well as GM were notified of the issue. The dealership was unable to reproduce the issue, and returned the vehicle backed to us. Upon researching online, this is a known issue for the Blazer EVs. After the accident, the vehicle was towed as it was not drivable. The vehicle was then picked up by my insurance company, Progressive, and evaluated if the vehicle was repairable. It is not. The emergency brakes engaged previously to this event. Several times in reverse, then a handful of times in drive.

I have had the car for 3 weeks and twice it has slammed on the brakes for an instant at slow speed. Both times I was at least 20 feet behind another vehicle travelling at less than 10mph when the brakes locked up for an instant throwing me against the seatbelt very hard and bringing me to an emergency stop. The first time the stop was so hard I thought the car behind me had hit me but it had not. I thought maybe it was the emergency braking but there was no alert or warning as there usually is when the car warns me of possible collision. The last time I contacted OnStar and asked the run a diagnostic which they said came back with no errors. I have not taken the car to the dealer since i cannot reproduce the problem.

This vehicle massively underperforming based on what was told to me at the time of sale (250–300-mile range), I have never come even close to that range. I am averaging about 125 miles using about 70% of the fully charged battery. I WAS informed that during colder temperatures I would experience faster battery degradation but it was not mentioned that it could be as dramatic as losing 50% of my range. I feel the mileage has been massively inflated to seem better situated to compete in today's EV market at the direct expense of consumers. In addition to the blatant falsehoods I have been told, the automatic emergency braking is seriously dangerous and primed to get people killed. In 6 months of driving, I have had no less than 4 separate experiences in which the AEB system engaged when there was not a vehicle or pedestrian infront or around my vehicle, engaging a full locked braked at speeds between 15 - 25 mph.

The Blazer EV 2024 completely SHUT OFF while I was driving at an incline while motorist were accelerating behind me I was about .05 miles from the freeway where I was headed delivering the vehicle due to warnings firing off the day before the incident there was also a significant drop in Battery from 80% to 73% within a 5 mile drive. I was unable to connect to OnStar unable to put Hazards on , it started upon its own with multiple warnings and was non operational however I was able to reach to on Star who sent police and a tow truck to take to Camino Real Chevy. It was terrifying and to think I was almost on the highway! This is a FATAL SAFETY CONCERN. The GM never contacted me regarding the incident . I leased it on 11/01:2024. It was towed in non operational on 11/22/2024. It has been in the service Department since with no response as to what is going on with the vehicle or any attempts in appropriately rectifying a SERIOUS SAFETY DEFECT in the vehicle they sold me. There was NO warnings that came on before the vehicle shut off. The vehicle skidded forward I was thrusted forward . I am terrified to be placed back into this defective vehicle . I do not wish to allow this to occurred once or twice more to be considered a lemon . My LIFE AND OTHERS ARE AT HIGH RISK for a FATAL INCIDENT to occur .. I have photos videos and have filed complaints to GM Corporate ,BBB AUTOLINE Consumer Affairs , and the Attorney General of California.

There is an interment issue with my passenger, rear turn signal. Once activated, it will flash three times, and then display a "Check Right Rear Turn Lamp" message. My front and mirror light still flash, but flash rapidly to indicate an issue with the rear signal. The rear signal does not flash, but periodically will flash quickly for 2-3 flashes and go out again. The dealership stated it "...could be a list of things..." and are currently trying to find a resolution. The vehicle had a stored "low amperage" code when the dealership pulled the codes. This first happened early morning on 11/13/24 and again happened early morning on 11/14/24. Obviously having an interment rear turn signal is a safety issue.

This may or may not be a true safety issue depending on definition. The charge door will not open some of the time. It starts to open and then closes right a way. Depending on where you are this could be a safety issue in that you could get stuck somewhere not close to any kind of service to get the door open. You could just be in a place that is just not safe to be stranded for a period of time. This problem is preventable. I my case it appears to be dust getting in a switch that causes it not to lower when the door starts to open. It takes me put to 20 times so far to get the door open when I am home with plowing air in side the door during the short time it is partly open. You will find many variations of complained on the issue on the Blazer EV Forum. Here is an example. [XXX] . I am not aware of GM recognizing this problem. This has happened to me 3 times now while at home. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Forward Collision Avoidance

Automatic emergency braking engages violently on occasions when there is no obstruction present. It has left me at times with my vehicle stationary half way into a high speed traffic lane with the parking brake engaged. The time it takes to disengage the brakes leaves the vehicle in a dangerous position in the roadway.

EA26006 · Electronic Brake Module Component Failure

Opened Aug 21, 2026 · No close date supplied

Status: open (inferred from source dates) · Service Brakes

On April 11, 2024, the Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) opened Preliminary Evaluation PE24011 after receiving complaints concerning a loss of brake assist in 2023 MY Cadillac Lyriq vehicles. These complaints allege a hard brake pedal, followed by a “Brake System Failure” message at start up or while driving. GM shared records regarding several internal investigations for loss of brake assist due to alleged spindle fractures in the eBoost system. GM has stated that in the event of a spindle fracture, anti-lock brakes (ABS), stability control, and traction control remain functional until the vehicle comes to a complete stop. At this point, ABS, brake assist, stability control, and traction control functions are lost. The loss of these functions causes the vehicle to set one of three Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) based on failed performance criteria for the Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM). These DTCs, in turn, activate several driver alerts: an audible chime, a visual “Service Brake System” message in the display, and multiple illuminated Malfunction Indicator Lights (MILs) for the ABS, Traction Control, and Brakes informing the driver of loss of functionality. The vehicle speed will also be limited to 70 KPH (43 MPH). Since opening PE24011, ODI has continued to receive reports of loss of brake assist. Some of these reports describe symptoms inconsistent with GM’s description of a spindle failure. These reports allege an immediate loss of brake assist functionality as opposed to the loss occurring after the vehicle comes to a complete stop. The sudden loss of brake assist during a braking event could result in extended braking distance, which increases the risk of a crash or injury. ODI believes further analysis is necessary to assess the potential for failures in GM’s eBoost system to resulting in safety-related outcomes. At this time, ODI is aware of the following vehicles that are equipped with this eBoost system: 2023-2026 MY Cadillac Lyriq, Chevrolet Colorado, and GMC Canyon; 2024-2026 MY Buick Enclave, Envision; Chevrolet Blazer EV, Equinox EV, Traverse; Cruise Origin; and GMC Acadia; 2025-2026 MY Cadillac Celestiq and Optiq. ODI is also aware of 2024-2026 MY Acura ZDX and 2024-2026 MY Honda Prologue vehicles that were built with this system. The Acura and Honda vehicles were manufactured by GM in a joint venture with Honda, and will be included in the Engineering Analysis as peer vehicles. ODI is opening this Engineering Analysis to further assess the safety-related consequences of a failed eBoost system. In addition, ODI is expanding the scope of the investigation to encompass all GM vehicles that share this eBoost system. To review the ODI reports cited in the Opening Resume ODI Report Identification Number document, go to NHTSA.gov.
