Vehicle displayed a 'Lithium Ion Battery – Schedule Service Now' warning within approximately one month of delivery. Dealership service records later obtained by our attorney show the identical diagnostic condition was already present and was cleared via a system reset on the date of delivery, October 23, 2025, without disclosure to us. The defect was 'repaired' in December 2025 (diagnostic code P13FB, coolant control valve replacement) but recurred in May 2026, with the warning consistently reappearing whenever ambient temperature rose above approximately 80°F, accompanied by complete loss of air conditioning. The vehicle has been out of service since June 4, 2026. We consider this a potential safety issue given the recurring high-voltage battery fault and are concerned other VISTIQ owners may be experiencing the same condition without knowing it was present before delivery. Since retaining legal counsel, a temporary repair was made, but the vehicle is now also subject to a manufacturer recall that renders the third row unusable, with no permanent remedy currently available. We are concerned this reflects an unresolved and possibly unfixable condition affecting vehicle safety and usability.

I leased a new 2026 Cadillac VISTIQ on XXX. The vehicle had approximately 960 miles when the incident occurred. After DC fast charging at a Tesla Supercharger in Las Vegas, NV, the charging session did not complete normally. Shortly afterward, the vehicle displayed a “Reduced Acceleration – Drive with Care” warning message and vehicle performance was significantly reduced. The air conditioning also stopped cooling properly while outside temperatures exceeded 100°F. Because vehicle acceleration was limited and the warning indicated reduced propulsion performance, I did not feel comfortable continuing to operate the vehicle. I canceled a planned trip from [XXX] to [XXX] because I no longer believed the vehicle was reliable for highway travel. The vehicle was taken to the selling Cadillac dealership for diagnosis and remains available for inspection. At the time of this complaint, I have not yet received the dealership’s diagnosis or repair findings. This incident occurred on a brand-new vehicle with fewer than 1,000 miles. I am submitting this report because a sudden reduction in propulsion immediately following DC fast charging could create a safety concern if it occurs while merging, passing, or traveling at highway speeds. This is the second time the EV charging system has alerted for overheating and inability to charge. The dealer has now had the car for 2 weeks this second time. It was in the shop for 4 days the 1st time when the issue was not fixed. I was in the vehicle with my small child and had no air conditioning as well.

I believe the issue involved Super Cruise, forward collision warning, and automatic emergency braking systems. The vehicle is currently at the dealership and available for inspection. It has been there since 6/22/25 because the brakes and rotors are on backorder. While driving on the highway in the middle lane on a Sunday afternoon, I activated adaptive cruise after the vehicle had been parked for over 2 hours. After driving seven miles, the car suddenly jolted to a stop in the middle lane, as if we had been hit. We hadn’t—but cars were forced to swerve around us at highway speeds. If traffic had been heavier, this could have caused a serious crash. I exited safely to a mall parking lot, where the car began smoking from the brake area and gave multiple warnings, including “Reduce braking to avoid overheating.” The car remained parked, but the messages continued. A tow truck driver later said the brakes appeared to have caught fire because of how charred they were. I have video of the smoke and warning messages. This is a major safety concern. No. The issue has not been reproduced due to the parts being unavailable. The car has remained at the dealer since 6/22/25. Not to my knowledge. Only the dealer has had physical access to the vehicle since the incident. Just before the event, I saw a brief message on the screen, possibly “Auto Collision Not Engaged.” I had used Super Cruise previously without issue. No prior warning signs appeared before this failure.
