ABS VALVE BLOCK FAILED . AM REPORTING THIS FAILURE SINCE IT IS THE SECOND ABS BRAKE FAILURE OF TWO GM AUTOMOBILES WE CURRENTLY OWN. OUR 1992 CHEVY CAPRICE WAGON ABS SYSTEM FAILED WHEN IT HAD 49,978 MILES ON IT. NOW THE 1995 BUICK, WHICH HAS 55700 MILES ON IT HAS ALSO EXPERIENCED AN ABS BRAKE FAILURE. WE CAN UNDERSTAND AN ISOLATED FAILURE. BUT HAVING TWO GENERAL MOTORS AUTOMOBILES AND BOTH CARS EXPERIENCING ABS BRAKE FAILURES LEAD US TO BELIEVE THAT GENERAL MOTORS HAS A PROBLEM WITH ABS SYSTEMS THROUGHOUT ITS VARIOUS FLEETS. REQUEST YOUR OFFICES RESEAARCH THIS POTENTIAL PROBLEM WITH THE INTENTION OF HAVING A RECALL OF ALL CARS SO AFFECTED IF NECESSARY. THE TWO ABS FAILURES TOTAL MORE THAN $2200.00 IN REPAIRS.
BRAKES CONTINUALLY FAILING CAUSING EXTREME VIBRATION, REPLACEMENT OF FAULTY PADS AND ROTORS DID NOT RECTIFY INTERMITTENT FAILURES.
BRAKES WOULD MAKE A GRINDING NOISE WHEN STARTING OUT SLOWLY. TOOK TO DEALER & COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG. *AK DEALER TOOK BRAKES APART TWICE AND COULD NOT FIND ANY PROBLEMS, CONSUMER FEELS PROBLEM COULD BE RELATED TO ABS. *SLC
WHEN APPYLING THE BRAKES THE PEDAL TRAVELED TO THE FLOOR, CAUSING EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE WHICH CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO GO OVER A HILL. *AK

THE DRIVER SIDE HEADLAMP LENS HAS AN INCORRECT AIM PAD NUMBER ON THE LENS. THIS DOES NOT COMPLY WITH FMVSS NO. 108, "LAMPS, REFLECTIVE DEVICES, AND ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT."
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: CONSEQUENCE OF NON-COMPLIANCE: IF THESE HEAD LAMPS ARE RE-AIMED USING A MECHANICAL AIMING DEVICE THAT UTILIZES THE AIMING PAD NUMERS, THE RESULTANT AIM WOULD BE OUT OF THE SPECIFIED RANGE. THIS MAY CAUSE A VISIBILITY PROBLEM INCREASING THE POTENTIAL FOR A VEHICLE ACCIDENT.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE DRIVER SIDE HEADLAMP ON VEHICLES WITH THE CORRECT OUTBOARD LOWER PAD NUMBER.
