I purchased a vehicle August 2, 2024 from Kingdom auto sales. The car was inspected July 2024 in which it passed shortly after the car wouldn’t go over 40 mph. It would say it’s an over speed. The car runs hot and the parking assist light won’t go off May 25, 2025 I was driving on the highway in the car lost power and the speed …

The car continues to have serious engine issues. I keep getting a service Stability track and Engine Power Reduced warning. It has happened to me on the expressway and the car will not accelerate past 20 miles per hour. I had the car repaired on October of last year (3 months ago) and the issue persists. I decided to research online and this seems to be a major issue going on with Buicks. It sounds like GM has done nothing to remedy the malfunction. Many people state that even the dealers can seem to fix the issues and have no clue as to why this happens. This is a serious and life threatening mechanical failure that needs to be addressed.

I get Reduced Engine Power and Service Stabilitrak messages. Engine Code P2138 is prevalent. The car will not accelerate, nor maintain highway speeds, forcing the driver to pull off the road and shut off the car. The warning message returns under normal driving conditions. This code points to several components [Accelerator Pedal Position (APP) Sensor, Throttle Body Assembly with Sensor, Manifold Absolute Position (MAP) Sensor, etc...] All of which I have replaced. It is rumored that General Motors knows that it is a problem and the true fix is to replace the wire(s) and seal or replace the connector. Refer to GM Technical Service Document 070604019F

Electronic Stability Control Systems (ESC) activates a couple times a week every other month for several years. Multiple Warning lights flash, needles on two dials rotate erratically resulting in sudden changes in vehicle handling and deceleration, and on wet roads which cause me difficulty in maintaining the vehicle's desired path of travel and desired vehicle speed, and could result in a crash without warning. I have a video. Its scary. Had it looked at twice and paid a lot but it keeps happening.

I was driving on the 99 freeway when my car turned completely off! I could have been killed!!!!! The check engine light came on and service stabilitrak was on the screen. Then it would not start. There was no warning at all. I got it fixed (so I thought by one mechanic) and it happened again. So I took it to the Buick dealer and they fixed it(so I thought) and it happened again. It is now at the Buick dealership and they told me it is the control module on the computer and quoted me 996 dollars!!!! I looked up online and found that other people have had the same problem with their 2010 Buick Lacrosse. Seems to be a manufacturers defect and needs to be reported and recalled.

WHEN I PRESS THE DEFROSTER BUTTON THE LIGHT INDICATES THAT IT'S ON BUT NOTHING HAPPENS. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. I TOOK THE VEHICLE INTO THE DEALERSHIP TWICE FOR THIS PROBLEM AND THEY SAID THAT BOTH THE REAR WINDOW DEFOGGER AND HEATED MIRRORS WORK OFF THE SAME BUTTON AND NEEDED TO BE REPROGRAMMED - BUT IT NEVER SEEMS TO WORK WHEN I TRULY NEED IT.

MY BUICK LACROSSE WAS HANDLING JUST FINE UNTIL I PUT A HEAVY PIECE OF LUGGAGE INTO THE TRUNK. I GOT BACK IN THE CAR AND IT WOULDN'T START. A MESSAGE WAS ON MY DASHBOARD SAYING THERE WAS A POWER STEERING PROBLEM. I WAS AT THE AIRPORT, SO A TOW TRUCK DRIVER WAS ON THE SCENE WITHIN MINUTES. THE TOW TRUCK DRIVER JUMPED MY CAR. HE HANDED ME THE TRIM COVER THAT COVERS THE BATTERY. I'M NOT SURE IF HE TOOK IT OFF, OR WHETHER IT CAME OFF WHEN I PUT THE HEAVY SUITCASE IN THE TRUNK. I PUT THE TRIM COVER IN THE BACK OF MY CAR AND DROVE OFF. THE CAR THEN STALLED WHEN I PUT IT IN REVERSE TO BACK INTO THE DRIVEWAY. IT WOULDN'T START AGAIN, SO I JUMPED IT. IT WORKED AND I DROVE TO MY MECHANIC. MECHANIC SAID MY BATTERY WAS FINE. THEY CHECKED THE ERROR MESSAGES. THEY COULDN'T FIGURE OUT WHAT WAS WRONG SO THEY SENT ME TO A DEALER. THE DEALER COULDN'T FIGURE OUT WHAT WAS WRONG AND SAID TO COME BACK IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN. FOR ABOUT TWO MONTHS THE CAR WOULD RANDOMLY NOT START OR STALL. SEVERAL DAYS COULD GO BY WITH IT WORKING JUST FINE. AT FIRST, WHEN IT STALLED IT WAS ONLY WHEN I HAD JUST STARTED THE CAR OR PUT IT IN REVERSE. BUT THEN THE VEHICLE STALLED WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE, AT THE TOP OF A LONG HILL, IN A CONSTRUCTION ZONE. I WAS ABLE TO COAST DOWN A HALF MILE OR SO UNTIL I ARRIVED AT AN EMERGENCY PULL OFF ZONE. THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT SO THE STEERING WHEEL WAS TIGHT BUT WORKABLE. AFTER PULLING OVER, I TRIED STARTING THE CAR AGAIN BUT IT DIDN'T WORK. I HAD A SELF JUMP START KIT, AND WAS ABLE TO JUMP THE CAR AGAIN. IT STARTED BACK UP AND SEEMED LIKE NOTHING WAS WRONG. BUT ABOUT FIVE MINUTES LATER IT STALLED AGAIN. FORTUNATELY, I WAS BY ANOTHER EMERGENCY PULL OFF. AT THIS POINT, I PUT THE TRIM COVER BACK ON THE BATTERY. AND THE CAR HAS WORKED FINE FOR SEVERAL MONTHS. THE CAR SHOULD NOT START AND THEN RANDOMLY STALL IF THE TRIM COVER IS OFF.

Dec 22, 2021

General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2010-2013 Buick Lacrosse, 2012-2013 Buick Regal, and 2013 Chevrolet Malibu vehicles sold or ever registered in Connecticut, Delaware, the District of Columbia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, or Wisconsin. These vehicles may have rear toe links that received an improper amount of electrocoating (e-coat) corrosion protection, which could cause the e-coat to become brittle and break away when contacted by road debris. Over time, the e-coat may chip away, exposing the metal toe link and making it more susceptible to corrosion. Corrosion may eventually cause the toe link to thin and ultimately fracture.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: A rear toe link fracture may reduce the driver's ability to control the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will replace the rear suspension toe links and adjuster fasteners, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 27, 2022. Owners may contact Buick customer service at 1-800-521-7300 or Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020. GM's number for this recall is N212346640. This recall is an expansion of NHTSA recalls 20V-764 and 21V-633.
